Madonna's adoption ruling delayed until next week

An expected ruling on Madonna's planned adoption of a Malawi boy is being delayed until next week. The ruling was due on Wednesday, however a delay was necessary to allow a Malawian human rights group to present arguments on shortcomings in the adoption system. Chinula said the group was not challenging the adoption and he expected it to be approved next week.
The pop star and her husband, film director Guy Ritchie, were not present at Thursday's hearing in the Malawian capital. 
The boy, David Banda, will turn 3 in November.
Madonna has funded many projects in Malawi, the latest of which is a multi-million dollar academy for children in the country.
