So You Think You Can Dance Top 6 Couples

The Top 6 couples on So You Think You Can Dance entertained us twice again tonight. Each of the couples danced two routines. Joining the judging panel this week was Mia Michaels, which disappointed me a little. Whenever she judges we never get to see a routine from her, so I'm disappointed. I look forward to anything she choreographs, but she's good as a judge too so I'll live with it.

First up was Chelsie & Mark with an Alex Da Silva Salsa to "Fuego" by Joe Bataan. Alex says this isn't his usual Salsa, this is hip. It started off a bit slow for me, but picked up in the middle. Nigel Lythgoe thought it was great to open the show. He told Mark that he needed to relax a bit, but liked the footwork. He really liked Chelsie's outfit. Mary Murphy also thought Mark needed to relax a bit more but liked that he's there as a partner for Chelsie. Chelsie was phenomenal. Mia tells Chelsie that she's so gorgeous that she wants to stab her. She thought there was something awkward about Mark in this though.

Comfort & Thayne were up next with a Hip Hop routine by Tabitha & Napoleon. Napoleon wants Thayne to lose the smile so he can look tough. They danced to "Can We Chill" by Ne-Yo. Thayne did remember to not smile as much, but he seemed to keep looking at Comfort like he was waiting for a cue from her. Nigel didn't think they played off of each other, but Thayne tried. Mary didn't think they had the chemistry that Tabitha & Napoleon have with each other. Mia loved the choreography on the stairs but thought the connection was lacking.

Jessica & Will danced a Contemporary routine by Tyce DiOrio to "Silence" from the Unfaithful soundtrack. Tyce said this piece doesn't really have a story but more of a garden of eden essence. I thought it was beautiful, absolutely the best that Jessica has ever been. Nigel thought it was extraordinary work by Tyce. He thought Will's lines were great and Jessica kept up with Will tonight. Mary thought it was one of the most amazing pieces on the show. Mia tells a story about when Tyce first played this music for her and she fell asleep, but thought that it was amazing. She loved it as a perfect moving human body art piece.

Courtney & Gev got the chance to do a Cha-Cha choreographed by former contestants Anya and Pasha to "Don't Stop the Music." I thought they were great as usual. Nigel thought that Gev as brilliant, thought not technically great. They were fun to watch and have a connection. Mary thought it was magic and put them on the hot tamale train. Mia tells them they aren't the best dancers on the show but the performance quality they have together is amazing.

Kherington & Twitch performed a Lil' C Crump to "2 Buck 4 TV" by The J Squad. I thought it was good, but not great. Nigel thought Kherington did a good job, though the last 16 bars she lost it. Mary was finally convinced about Crump. Mia thought it was dirty, disgusting and ugly. That naturally means she loved it. She too noted that Kherington got tired near the end and lost it a bit.

Katee & Joshua danced a Viennese Waltz choreographed by Jean-Marc to "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls. Josh was supposed to be a ghost that Katee can feel and dance with, but not see. I love these two and think they were beautiful. The judges weren't so impressed. Nigel thought that Joshua was a bit too bouncy but Katee was beautiful. Mary thought the lifts were great but agreed that Joshua was too bouncy and needs to glide more. Mia felt the same as well, that Joshua was clumsy and not fluid. As for Katee, Mia thinks she is meant to dance and is a gift.

Chelsie & Mark are back again with a Broadway number by Tyce DiOrio to "I'm a Woman." Again these two are just amazing, they're one of my favorite couples. Nigel thought the routine was hot. Mary said it was sultry sexy and bluesy just like Tyce wanted it. She loved how commited Chelsie was. Mia thinks that Mark is showing his lack of training and technique, but he takes them past that with his performance quality. She tells him to train his legs and body.

Comfort & Thayne were back for their second shot. They danced a Contemporary routine by Mandy Moore to "A Different Corner" by George Michael. The piece was gorgeous and I thought Comfort & Thayne had more of a connection than they had before. Nigel would have liked to see the routine danced by someone else because Comfort & Thayne can't dance it was well as the choreography deserved. Mary didn't find it believable. Mia thought it was a great piece of choreography, but Comfort can only fake so much. She thinks Thayne is brilliant. Z

Jessica & Will drew the "short straw" tonight with the Quickstep. Tony Meredith and Melanie choreographed a routine for them to "Bandstand Boogie" by Barry Manilow. I thought that it may have been one of the better Quicksteps done on the show. The judges thought it was terrible though. Nigel liked the performance overall but not the actual style of the quickstep. Mary didn't like Will's jacket and thought that Jessica lost her shape as she moved along. Mia told Will that he looked tired of carrying Jessica like he has for the entire time and it was time for him to get a new partner.

Courtney & Gev danced a Jazz routine by Mandy Moore to "Standing There" by The Creatures. The idea is that they are lost in the woods and Courtney has the map. I loved their characters as usual. Nigel thought they were fun but had no substance (is it that time of the month for Nigel or something?). Mary thought it was rough and raw and pure entertainment. Mia tells them they had a great night as both pieces were great. She names them as one of her top couples.

Kherington & Twitch picked a Tango by Tony Meredith as their second routine. Their dance, to "Assasin's Tango" from the Mr & Mrs Smith soundtrack was to be like the movie. Nigel didn't think it was honest from Twitch as he looked uncomfortable and the steps weren't right. Kherington had no passion according to Nigel. Mary loved the beginning and the ending, but the middle not so much. Mia felt like they weren't commited.

Katee & Joshua were up last with a Bollywood routine choreographed by Nakul Dev Mahajan. The idea of the dance is that a guy likes a girl but the girl is playing hard to get. They danced to "Dhoom Taana" from the Om Shanti Om Soundtrack. That was fantastic and wonderful to see. Nigel liked that they could finally show this style. He also liked that the pair of them find a way to fuse their style to whatever they're dancing and add their personality. Mary thought the athleticism was incredible. She puts them back on the hot tamale train tonight. Mia thought it was awesome to have world dance on the stage and that they did a great job.

I think that Comfort is definitely doomed if she lands in the bottom, as I think she will. As for the guy, hopefully Mia will fight for Thayne to stay - though I'm not sure who else I'd rather have go home!

	I didn't get to see all of the performances tonight, which I hate. But I think that it will be a draw between Jessica and Komfort as to who will go home if they land in the bottom three couples, and I think they will. I'm not sure which guy will go home though. It gets so hard at this time because they are all really good. Can we send Jessica and Komfort home and have an "alternative" couple?

If you can't be a good example, then be a horrible warning!

	Chelsie and Mark are my favs! Also Katee and Joshua, and Kherington and Twitch I felt bad for Thayne and Comfort, especially when Nigel said "I would have liked to see the routine danced by someone else because Comfort & Thayne can't dance it was well as the choreography deserved." And it's true, they don't have chemistry. Comfort looks like she can't stand Thayne. So I think they will be voted off.
