Public decides who leaves So You Think You Can Dance

Tonight for the first time this season the decision of who should or shouldn't leave on So You Think You Can Dance was entirely in the hands of the public. That may or may not have been a good choice, depending on your opinion.

First up was the group dance number, a Bollywood routine choreographed by Nakul Dev Mahajan to "JBJ" from the Jhoom Barabar Jhoom Soundtrack. It was very fun, I'm glad they've included that style of dance this time around.

Host Cat Deeley announced that the show has received some Emmy nominations. Three choreographers were nominated for their work on the show, Shane Sparks, Mandy Moore and Wade Robson. Meanwhile the makeup team was also nominated for their work.

After the break we were treated to another group dance, this time just the girls. They danced to a Mia Michaels contemporary routine to "Ave Maria" by Celine Dion. I love the song, I love Mia Michaels, the combo brought tears to my eyes. It was just so beautiful.

Cat gave us the results for the girls next. Chelsie was safe, while Comfort was in the bottom two. Katee was safe as well, leaving either Courtney or Kherington in the bottom two. Courtney was safe, meaning Kherington joins Comfort in the bottom two. Both will dance solos later, not because it will change the result, but because it might be their last time onstage.

The guys then give us a routine choreographed by a "mystery choreographer" to "Five Guys Named Moe" by Joe Jackson. It's a fun dance that includes a bit of stepping. Cat asks if anyone knows who the mystery choreographer is. When no one guesses, she tells us it's none other than Nigel Lythgoe.

Then the guys get their results. Joshua and Will are safe. Mark is the first to land in the bottom two. Either Twitch or Gev will join him in the bottom two. Luckily Twitch is safe, while Gev is in the bottom. Like the girls, the guys will dance solos for the public.

We're up to the solos already. Comfort picked "Egypt, Egypt" by The Egyptian Lover to dance to. Nigel tells Comfort that this is all a part of a dancers life. Mary Murphy says that not everyone gets a second chance and she did a marvelous job. Lil' C tells her she is the most evolved in the competition.

For his solo, Mark danced to "Black Betty" by Ram Jam. Nigel tells him he is quirky and unique. Mary thinks that the competition comes off on TV as not that tough, but the viewing audience only sees a small part of what the dancers go through. Lil' C calls him a focused dancer and a hard worker and tells him to keep doing what he's doing.

Kherington picked "MyPhilosophy" by Inner for her solo. Lil C tells her that everything they say to her is to make her better. Mary tells Kherington that coming out of Vegas Mary would have put her in the bottom of the 20 but she's been great. Nigel thinks she has film star looks and will have one heck of a future in front of her no matter what.

Gev was up last dancing to "Feeling Good" by Michael Buble. Lil C tells him he is such a fan of him because he dances with so much heart. Mary says that for a street dancer doing mostly ballroom, he's been tremendous. Nigel says that Gev is outstanding with his personality and charisma.

Finally we are down to the eliminations. First up are the girls, with either Comfort or Kherington leaving. Comfort gets another pass while Kherington's journey is over. As for the guys it would be either Mark or Gev leaving us. Gev was the one on the lower end of the voting pool, so he's leaving us.

I really liked Gev and Kherington, but I don't think either of them would have made it all the way. I would have liked to have seen them stay longer though.

And I was surprised that I couldn’t recognize most of the 5 girls. They were beautiful angels, and I loved their outfits, makeup and hair. Nigel’s choreography was cool! Kherington and Chelsie were my top 2 fav girls!! Kherington has always been one of the best dancers!!! I'm can't believe she is voted off!
