The final performance began with a standing ovation from the crowd. Actor Adam Kantor said the performance was dedicated to Jonathan Larson, who wrote the musical but died of an aortic aneurism after the final dress rehearsal in 1996. That's not the end of the successful musical however as it returns in January. Those who can't wait that long can check out movie theatres, as the last performances were filmed and will be released to theatres later this month.
