So You Think You Can Dance Top 14 Perform

The Top 14 dancers on So You Think You Can Dance performed this week. Host Cat Deeley introduces us to the judges, which includes Mia Michaels this time around. As this is Mia's first judging appearance since the audition rounds, Cat wonders if Mia's opinions on any certain person have changed. Mia says that, without naming names, her opinion has changed for the better. Nigel Lythgoe asks if that is for a small male dancer with the initials Brandon. They are, of course, referring to Mia's notorious dislike of Brandon during the audition phase. As a matter of fact, Brandon only barely made it through as Mia and Lil C both disliked him.

First up dancing would be Brandon and his partner Janette. They drew a Cha-Cha this week, choreographed by Jean-Marc Genereux and France. They danced to the Pussycat Dolls "Hush Hush Hush Hush." Nigel thinks it was the best darn cha-cha on the show ever. He calls Brandon the Michaelangelo of the dance floor. Mary Murphy gives them two first class tickets on the Hot Tamale Train. Mia tells Brandon that she is toughest on the ones who have so much potential and ability. Brandon is nearly in tears as he finally gets Mia's approval.

Kayla and Kupono take on a Sonya Tayeh Contemporary routine. This one has a vampire theme, where Kayla is pulling away from death, but Kupono is pulling her to it. Their dance, to "Eyes on Fire" by Blue Foundation, didn't impress me. They danced well, I just really didn't like the choreography this time around. Nigel loved it, telling Kupono that he is a new man up there this week. Mary liked that even the transitions had chemistry and puts them on the Hot Tamale Train as well. Mia tells them that they are gorgeous together. She loves that Kayla commits to everything.

Randi and Evan were up next with a Joey Dowling Broadway routine. They danced to "Rich Man's Frug" by Sweet Charity. As with the last dance, I didn't like this choreography. They danced great, it just didn't appeal to me. Nigel thought that Randi did well, but was disappointed with Evan. Mary tells them that they got the character. Mia thinks they need to take their work to the next level because they are so short.

Jason and Caitlin pulled a Pop Jazz number choreographed by Brian Friedman. The idea was that Caitlin was an alien who has come to earth to impregnate the last human male. I absolutely loved this one. It was weird, but I got it. Nigel thinks it was weird, and notes that you have to commit to it 100%. Mary didn't think it played to their strengths. The whole thing just didn't sit right with her. Mia didn't like the outfit worn by Caitlin.

Phillip and Jeanine danced a Tabitha and Napoleon Hip Hop routine to "Love Lockdown" by Kanye West. The idea was inspired by the show. It features the dancers chained together and they have to learn to work together. Nigel tells them they should be chained together for life. Mary tells Jeanine she is just crazy good. Mia got so caughted up in the chain that it took away from the dancers in her opinion.

Melissa and Ade danced a Classical Pas de Deux choreographed by Thordal Christensen. They danced as Romeo and Juliet. I thought it was very beautiful. Nigel tells Ade that his feet could have been better, but his carriage was great. Mary loved it. She loved seeing Melissa dance in her own style. Mia thoughtit was a fairy tale.

Before the last dancers came on, we had an announcement. Adam Shankman, Nigel, Katie Holmes and Carrie Ann Inaba have formed The Dizzy Feet Foundation. The foundation will award scholarships to underprivileged dancers. They will select 10 kids for scholarships. Involved in the selecting committee for those scholarships are Paula Abdul, Jennifer Lopez, Lil C, Debbie Allen and Miley Cyrus. On the 23rd of July for the 100th show, they will have a tribute to Judy Garland, featuring Katie Holmes dancing!

Last up were Karla and Vitolio with the kiss of death - the Quickstep. For the dance, Vitolio is a statue in a museum that comes to life. They danced to "Puttin on the Ritz" by Rufus Wainwright. Nigel tells them that there were many good things about that dance. Mary says so much for the kiss of death dance. Mia tells them they really stepped it up.

	Brandon and Janette are still the best! Melissa and Ade's ballet was beautiful. I really liked the quickstep! I also liked the alien impregnating the male. (Brian Friedman shouldn't have shaved his head!) I'm sorry Phillip wasn't better in his hip-hop. It's hard to know who should leave.
