Cat Stevens to tour after 33 years

Cat Stevens, or better known as Yusuf Islam since his conversion to the Islam is going on tour. His last tour was ended about 33 years ago.

"Thirty-three years is a long time, and I suppose I never imagined that I'd be going back on tour again," he told Reuters at Elstree Studios in London where he has been rehearsing for his four-date tour.

"But things change and when I started to make music again and making records the yearning came to ... do it for real. When you're live it's that much more vibrant, and you're that much closer to the audience ... You can't beat that kind of music."

He says that he will perform some of his old songs but will also do songs from his two recent albums.

	Cat Stevens spoke to our souls. It's no accident that people cant wait to hear him speak to us again. He wrote music that resonated with the two most ubiquitous themes in humanity -- love and the loss of love. Jim Croce died in a plane crash. Jim Morrison and Mamma Cass Elliot died as a result of their way of life. Cat Stevens walked away from a great life and a lifestyle that most people would envy in exchange for a greater good. Welcome back.
