Velvet Revolver, as many of you should know, is made up of 3 former members of Guns n' Roses and the former singer of Stone Temple Pilots. Matt Sorum, Slash, and Duff McKagan say that picking up Scott Weiland, despite his drug problems, wasn't a problem.
"Scott's a piece of cake compared to Axl," says McKagan, laughing. "He's one of the fellas. A lot of people freaked out that we got a singer with a drug problem. Really, Slash and I, our problems were 10 times worse."
The group's debut, Contraband, will be released soon.
I am amazed that you list the members of GnFnR in that order - Matt Sorum, who joined the band on their THIRD record, and THEN Slash and Duff. Matt is butt compared to the original drummer, who, ahem, got kicked out of GNR for drug problems.
Ah, that's just how it came out of my fingers, not in an particular order. I too miss Steven Adler, but alas, they decided that there apparently was a limit to the amount of drugs someone could do (or maybe he just wouldn't share?)
OBVIOUSLY NEVER HEARD SORUMS WORK IN THE CULT BEFORE GNR. POPCORN ADLER WAS GOOD BUT NOT ON SAME PAGE WITH SORUM. IT'S JUST GOOD TO SEE SLASH AND DUFF TOGETHER AGAIN. SAW THIS BAND IN MINNEAPOLIS LAST WEEK AND THEY ARE INSAME.
