Fantasia Barrino and Diana Degarmo in American Idols Final

Today the final two would be made known. Who would fight for the title "American Idol"? Of course we wouldn't find that out until the end of the one hour show.

At the beginning of the show Ryan Seacrest asked the audience who they thought who would go home. Almost the entire audience screamed: Jasmine.

Ryan asked each of the contestants if they thought they have done enough to stay in the competition. Jasmine Trias said: "I gave my best every week." Fantasia Barrino said: "I think so, Everyone worked hard every week, and I tried to be different each week". Diana Degarmo said that she gave her 100% each week.

Tamyra Gray performed a song called "You are a star". It sounded good, but it didn't move me. During the performance they showed videos from the auditions, and some video of the 12 top contestants at the Hollywood house they lived in during the competition.

The Australian winner of Australian Idol, Guy Sebastian was on the show to perform. Looking at his hair he looked kinda like Jack Osbourne (decide yourself if that is a good or a bad thing). His record is the best selling in Australian history, his record went platinum five times. His advice for the contestants was to take everything in. He then performed his song called 'Angels brought me here'. His performance was really good for an Australian, as you couldn't hear any Australian accent during his singing.

To fill the hour this week they played a video from each contestant featuring their trip home last weekend. They first showed Jasmine going back to Hawaii. There it was announced that May 13th would then be known as Jasmine Trias day. She went back to her high school called 'MaryKnoll High school' she said she got incredible amazing support. Then they did a recap of the songs and the comments.

After the break Ryan first had a talk with Tamyra, where it was announced that she co-wrote a single for this years winner called 'I Believe'. Both finalists will sing it next week, and the winner will have that song released as a single. This is to clearly make a quick buck out of the AI-rage, but they of course did not mention that part. Tamyra's new album will be released next Tuesday and she sang a song from that album called 'Raindrops will fall' which was a good performance.

After that it was time for the clip from Fantasia's trip home. She went to Highpoint, N.C. where she visited radio, tv, and her old elementary school. She stopped by a furniture store where her grandfather worked. She was given a lounge chair. She also received the key to the city from the mayor. She went to her church for a pot luck dinner. Ryan asked if she ate chitlins (whatever that is) and she replied that she didn't have that, but she did have pig's feet. She got a recap of her songs and the comments aswell. And choked up with emotion. ( good emotions! )

Diana looked very nervous for her clips. She went to a TV station, where she also did the weather forecast, which was quite funny to see. You saw her being at home, with her two dogs. She was picked up by a limo to go to the mayor. For that trip she even had a police escort with their lights on during which she remarked "I got blue lights!". She had a CD signing at a store ( which to us looked like a Walmart. ). Then she went to her high school "Shiloh" and then she got her recap of the songs and the comments.

It finally was time to torture us with the weekly clip. This time it was the song "Somebody's watching me". And all of the contestants were followed by paparazzi. First when they woke up, up to where she was driving a car and finally when they went to bed. It was amazingly amusing. Either I lost my feeling for humor by all the bad clips from the weeks before or they actually made a good clip this week.

The judges were asked for advice for the person that would leave this week. Paula said that the person should "follow their heart and soul". Simon congratulated all the contestants as he thought the show from last night was one of hte best shows ever.

It was finally time to announce who would leave the show this week: It was Jasmine Trias.

Jasmine was smiling when she heard she was leaving, however her family looked disappointed.

Jasmine had to flip a coin to decide who got to choose who would go first next week, Fantasia choose Heads, and Diana choose Tails. The coin landed on Heads and Fantasia choose that she would like to go second next week.

Jasmine was asked to perform her song as a goodbye. Normally it has always been the song that they sang the day before, however Ryan asked Jasmine to sing 'Inseperable'. It was a good performance, her voice sounded great with this song. Most people will also agree that the best performance from her in the whole competition from her was that song. That is probably why they asked Jasmine to sing that song.

	FINALLY SOME INTELLIGENCE AND COMPASSION COMES OUT...WHAT THIS GUEST WROTE DESERVES TO BE READ AGAIN....MAYBE ALL OF YOU NEGATIVE PEOPLE WILL FINALLY REALIZE...AMERICAN IDOL IS JUST A SHOW ON FOX...ALL OF THE 12 FINALISTS CAN SING....SOME DID OK EARLY IN THE COMPETITION, AND OTHERS SHINED LATER...THEY ARE ALL AMERICAN IDOLS.JASMINE REPRESENTED HAWAII WELL, EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS BASHED FOR MAKING IT TO THE FINAL 3, SHE KEPT HER SMILE AND THE ALOHA SPIRIT WAS SHOWN TO ALL OF AMERICA. SHE WILL BE FINE!!! (Its sad that week after week the bashing continues. Can't you all just say something nice about someone. You rag on Jasmine cause she stayed in so long, well she deserved to be there. Hawaii couldn't possibly keep her there themselves, so your fellow Americans voted her in. She has a lovely voice, bad choice of songs didn't help her cause, but she held up well. Diana didn't start of the greatest, found the right songs to sing and now she is up there. NO one had a perfect run. Some just brought it together better near the end. Latoya was let go because the American public found a flaw in her, whatever that was. She'll do fine. And so will Jasmine despite all your idiotic criticism. She's an awesome girl with a sweet voice that couldn't compete with the Loud, stronger voices of Fantasia and Diana. Who wins now, I don't care. They are both good. But I won't bad mouth any of the contestants cause they had to be good to have made it to the final twelve. Some of them could only sing one type of music and be really good at it, like John Stevens with Frank Sinatra type songs, Amy was a terrific country singer and Jasmine more of a ballad singer. If you really listen you will also hear the stronger types of music that each of the other contestants had. The stronger, louder singers could cover up flaws better than the softer singers. So be careful about your insults, they may just come back some day and slap you in the face.)

	hello peeps! wow, what a night i must say. what can i say? just goodbye and goodluck to jasmine. Things just have to end for someone. But it's not the end, is it? For the remaining two? both of them are really good, so its up to the audience to pick which of them would be their AI. i just couldn't picture Diana being one(sorry, Diana fans!). There's something about her that just doesn't fit the AI package, something... I admit that she amazes me oftenly with her performances, but still, Fantasia has amzed me everytime she goes up the stage. Her song selection is impeccable, does she really pick one or the song picks her? Because she really owns and adds flavor to anything she sings, and she looks very much like she's back in her church with her people, singing songs to God. When she sings, her voice, her energy and the music all intertwine, making me speechless. Enough about her. With Diana, she has delivered us with fine performances, but sometimes(to tell the truth) I get bored because she always serves the same kind of menu(the one with the high pitched, almost carotid-splitting notes, hehe). Maybe it's her style, and I don't think she can change it, because it's not everyday that she'd be singing "Think" or "Don't Cry Out Loud". But she's very good, I must agree, up to the point where Simon ate his word. But I'm afraid that in the near future, when every singer out there singd there lungs out, that she goes bland. I suggest, move us with your music, but don't shatter our eardrums while you're in it. If you can do it, then there's a very very tough choice to make, who to to win between both of them. The world is unfair, as quoted from a friend. When they announce who wins, of course some will be happy and others won't. But the world will still turn and, one day they'd both get over it.

	Well first of all go Daina. I think that she is a pretty girl ( who may be little big to the person who called her Miss Piggy) but she has such a better personality than Fantasia. Diana took the criticism good while Fantasia was mouthing back. To me that is no Idol little boys and girls are looking up to these peoples as a good role model. Come on you just can't do that. But my vote is for Daina. Even though she may not win I still love her and I would never buy a CD with Fantasia because of her attitude. I wish that LaToya was her instead of Fantasia. Sorry for whoever likes her. But I am rooting for Diana.

SHE IS NOT A HO! SHE TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR HER OWN ACTIONS AND FULLY EMBRACED HER RESPONSIBILITY TO RAISE HER DAUGHTER. Has anyone even contemplated this thought...What if it was a MALE contestant who had previously fathered a child? Would the horrible racist and belittling comments be flooding this webboard? I honestly cannot believe the comments that I have read! Why are there those who throw such demeaning comments around so frivalously? 	Jasmine is out and I really don't care who wins. The person who should have mad eit was Latoya. Yes I am from Hawaii and I did vote for Jasmine. I am glad that she is out, she took a lot of unkind remarks from the judges and also from a lot of people and none of it was her fault. She gave her all, and kept her winning smile. Good luck to Fantasia & Diana. Fat , skinny, black, white....what do we care. We are picking a talent here people not a race or body size...or whether or not we had a kid before marriage. America will decide, not you or me or any of the trash talkers who have nothing better to do than bash innocent people.

	I can only assume that the people making the nasty and hateful comments are absolutely perfect. That means they don't make any mistakes and are perfect little human beings 24/7. Unless I am mistaken there are no perfect people in the world so kindly stop making the hateful remarks about the contestants. You really must have a lot of time on your hands and have nothing else to do but stir up trouble. It is getting tiresome reading nasty racial jokes and comments about the contestants lives. You are to judge on the singing only - not whether they are good people in their home lives which I suspect they are. As a matter of fact I don't think any of the contestants that have been subjected to this hateful mail would participate in any of it.

	Regarding Fantasia's single mother status--those who believe that that her life (and Zion's life) would be better if she was in a strong, stable marriage are no doubt right. Single teenage parents are a challenge for our society, and society would be stronger if we did not condone and accept it. Study after study after study has shown this. However, that doesn't make any difference. The fact is, teenagers are becoming single parents and it's a fact of life. Fathers aren't involved in their children's and it's a fact of life. None of that is going to change. That doesn't make it right, but it's a reality that people have to accept. Societies change and not always in ways that we like. This is one of them. And, by the way, right from the start, I've always had my money on Fantasia to win.

	I would like to make a request to the owner of this webboard. Can something be done about the extreme trash talk that is flooding this webboard? There is nothing wrong with healthy debate, but, when the talk becomes as trashy as some of this has become it's just ridiculous. I as well as others are sick and tired of the racist comments that are being made. At first it was somewhat tolerable (I thought it would just fizzle out) But it has not it has only almost completely taken over this webboard. Racist comments and self-righteous attitudes make most people sick. Can something please be done about this?

Every time I think this person can't go any lower, he/she does. Whether or a not a person is married has no bearing on their status as a "ho". Having sex is part of being human. It's a part of our biology. Getting married is a religious "rule" that actually conflicts with our chemical/sexual make up. If a person is in a commited relationship and never gets married, they are not a ho. Promiscuity can be helped. Stupidity usually lasts forever.

As a PhD. student in Sociology, who specialized in inequality, poverty and housing issues I laugh at your comments. I also anxiously await your references for these "study upon study" you cite. Gee, I wonder if they are studies by right-wing fanatical zealots or peer-reviewed academic studies.... Marriage is largely a Christian institution. People who do not subscribe to religion don't make bad people, you know. They can be FAR MORE compassionate than those who use religion to JUDGE and LABEL others (which is a BIGGER problem in our society). I could go on...but you are not worth my time of day.
