Jasmine Trias, the American Idol contestant that ended up on the third place in the competition got offered a record deal that will get her at least $100.000 the first year.
The label that offered her a contract is Quiet Storm, which is an independant record company from Hawaii. They do not have any big name artists on their label and it seems they have mainly reggea and Hawaiian music.

I agree, especially if she does reggea and Hawaiian music, which as the article stated is what most of the artist under that particular label does. If Jasmine does more "mainstream" type songs, then she might end up more public, and outside of Hawaii. I could be wrong though. We'll just have to wait and see what exactly happens.
I'll buy every record of her albums. I do love her voice when she sang "Run Away", "I'll never love this way again", "The way you look tonight"....I just love her voice of expressing love...
That's a good sign for Jasmine's career in the music industry. Hope she hires a manager to manage her career. She is also popular in the Philippines. She can be future singing star and maybe a movie star in the Philippines and Hawaii and later the whole of Amferica.

Good luck to Jasmine. She has a wonderful voice and so much talent plus such a lovely smile and personality. I'll buy every recording she does. I wish she had won the whole competition.
As a big Jasmine fan, I think its cool that Jasmine is already getting offers, but for her to actually accept this deal.... I dunno.. I think she needs to see what else is out there... After all, she's just had valuable exposure worldwide, and to sign with a small Hawaiian label might not be the best decision for her at this point.. She is going on tour for Idols Live! and I truly believe a major record label could offer her a contract eventually. Jasmine even said that she is seriously considering moving to L.A. in order to pursue her dream.

You wonder how JASMINE made it to the top 12? No, you have to wonder why LEAH or CAMILE or JOHN STEVENS or MATT ROGERS were in the top 12. They were utterly horrendous.
I like Jasmine's voice because she doesn't scream like Diana, Fantasia, La Toya and Jennifer. Her voice is smooth and mellow. She'd make a great jazz singer. Good luck to you Jasmine. You deserved coming in 3rd place.
It's great news. I'll definatelyget her Album if it comes as far as Singapore. There are huge idol fans here and we get the broadcasted show a day after america. Congrats Jazzy and may you be a successful singer!

I am looking fo any information on contacting Jazmine Trias. I watched American Idol for the first time and she was truely my favorite. She is only missing the emotional element that the others had. She has a better sounding voice and can hit her notes. Fantasia voice is irritating but she had the emotional content that moved everyone. hi... i agree with NATE that jasmine is missing the emotional element. she has great singing voice except that, just like camille velasco. camille could have made it, if not of her lack of confidence. they both has strong charisma, excellent & unique voice, young, family oriented and good students. the judges should include this in their JUDGING CRITERIA for american idol. darn, Fantasia may have a UNIQUE & GREAT DONALD DUCK VOICE, but c'mon she's uglier than the ugliest duck in america!!!!! not to mention that she's a single mother!!! now, now, now .... is that what we call 'american idol', whoah!!!
