 Chaka Khan off-key because of strained vocal chords Jeremy

Health If you happened to notice that Chaka Khan sounded a little off-key during Wednesday night's VMA performance with Kanye West, it was because the singer's vocal chords were strained.
A statement released Tuesday by her publicist, Brit Reece of PMK/HBH, said Khan had to cancel a performance in Park City, Utah, Friday night because her voice was strained and she was under doctors' orders not to perform.
Chaka, however, received a cortisone shot a few hours before the VMA performance, which she said helped her a little bit.

Well, I still give Chaka Khan credit for singing, unlike Usher who lip-synced for some unknown reason. At least she didn't sound as bad as the lead singer of Hoobastank that night, who apparently was suffering from the flu.
