American Idol puts up wrong numbers for 3 contestants

American Idol displayed the wrong telephone number during the recap of the contestant's performances. One very observant viewer pointed this mistake out to us, and we're quite grateful. I'm usually too busy making notes to actually watch the show anymore for these little details.

The telephone numbers put up for Mikalah Gordon, Anwar Robinson, and Jessica Sierra were wrong. As you can see in the pictures, the upper number is correct, but the lower numbers are wrong. Mikalah's number is supposed to 1-866-IDOLS-09, but the lower number was displayed as 1-866-43657-01, which was Anthony Fedorov's number. Anwar's upper number was correct, 1-866-IDOLS-10, but the lower number was listed as 1-866-43657-02, which was Carrie Underwood's number. And finally, Jessica's number was 1-866-IDOLS-11, but the lower number given was 1-866-43657-03, which was Scott Savol's number.

The guest who pointed this out wondered if this was really a mistake or if it was yet another way for the producers to lead the voters. I think it truly was mistake, as they've been promoting Anwar heavily anyhow, so to do it to him would be odd to say the least. The producers have less obvious ways of leading the voters anyhow, such as background music being too loud or microphone troubles, and of course the most obvious influence - the judges. Randy and Paula are there to be nice. Simon is there to occcasionally be the one to lead the voters, such as his insistence that Carrie will win. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one getting bothered by it, as it troubles our observant viewer as well. I did enjoy her performance tonight, but I'm also tired of having her crammed down my throat as "the next American Idol." She's good, but she's not that consistently good. There are others who are better and more consistent.

I do feel that should Mikalah be the one to go, as I feel she will be, then her fans will scream bloody murder that it was foul play. A similiar thing happened in the finals of American Idol's season 2, with Clay Aiken's home state having a very hard time voting. I believe that almost no one from his home state got to vote. If the American Idol producers didn't do anything about that, you can bet they won't do anything about this. Beyond that, I think that it won't effect the outcome anyhow, as most people don't pay attention to that bottom number, they read the top number instead.

Common Sense: Why write down a the spelling of Idol & have to figure it out on the phone keypad when the actual number is listed below? Not that any of this matters to me, since I write down the numbers of my favorites after they sing their performance instead of waiting until the end of the show.

	the whole thing is a sham. Has been since they give it to Ruben, when Clay hands down won everboby knows it they just don't want to say it. How many times has Clay been in jail. Now how bout Ruuuuuuuben sham sham sham

	I do not understand how his happened. Last night's show was not live and had been edited. How can you not notice that error before you air the episode. I think that all of American Idol's tech team needs to be fired. The sound guys don't know how to mix the music well and you can't hear most of the singers because of it. And there is always the constant feedback (loud "squeaks") and it is obvious that they are not experienced. Now we can see that the editors/graphics people don't know what the heck they are doing. The only person on the tech team that hasn't screwed up it the light guy, and it would be hard to screw that up... but there is always the next episode to air......

	As a little old lady who can't see the letters on the phone pad the correspond to the numbers - I use the "bottom NUMBER" not the 1-866-IDOLS_ _. Although I CAN count and know the difference between who sang first and who sang 9th... Mikalah was AGAIN - horrible.... I don't when everybody thinks she was the "IT" for this show - she has been horrible from the very first audition... Anwar - I still love him but have YET to like a single song he has chosen to sing in competition. Nadia was great - I loved the hairdo throw back to the 80's... it was perfect - I don't care what Simon says... Carrie was good - Bo was beautiful - Constantine, if America thinks as much of you as you do yourself, you got it made man.... I loved Scott last night - I loved the message in his song. Take a good look at him now - and keep watching, because he isn't going anywhere soon. Nikko was good - he should not leave - just because he left early on the gusy doesn't mean he isn't better than half the girls still on there.... Vonzell - WOW!!! She was awesome last night - I take back the bad things I said about her earlier in the season - I am glad she stayed to show us her potential... she is good. Jessica was ok and Anthony too. 	In the future I will pay close attention to the numbers, but I wasn't going to vote for either performers. Mikalah is not the next American Idol for sure. So a BIG ThANKS to the viewer who caught this "ERROR"

	I have a sinking feeling that because of this voting debacle that someone is going to go home that shouldn't be. What if some singers fans that voted last night don't vote tonight or don't know about the re-vote? If I was the AI producer I would be publicizing the revote as much as humanly possible. What if Mikalah's fans realize that this is their chance to keep her in the competition and end up outvoting someone that got more votes than her last night?? AHHH ONCE AGAIN THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF THIS SHOW HAVE MADE A MESS OF THE VOTING IN ORDER TO STIR UP SOME CONTROVERSY AND BOOST RATINGS, MUCH LIKE HOW JENNIFER HUDSON WAS SACRIFICED LAST SEASON THEN THE NEXT SHOW WAS THE MOST WATCHED EPISODE IN AI HISTORY. PS: Is everyone performing again? Or are they just replaying the performances? The site says "encore performances" which implies they're all performing again. 	"I heard that the reason they were pre-recording the Top 12 and 11 shows was because they were only 1 hour, and they wanted to be fair and give everyone equal time.....easier to do that if it is pre-recorded." Agree!! That is what was stated on all the entertainment shows. PEOPLE!! Listen to Me! PLEASE do not vote for Mikalah (Babara Streisand wannabe). My VCR cannot take another Minute of her voice!! It broke down during her performance last night in Revolt!! Fortunately, it came back on for the next contestant. :) I actually felt bad for Mikalah last night because the audience had NO reaction to each judge saying her performance wasn't good... even Paula said it but in her usual boring nice way. When she walked over to Seacrest there was dead silence. Put the girl out of Our and Her misery!!! Proud Member of MMG

	I agree that it won't make a huge difference in the results of the voting because the top number is what the majorty of the people look at. Mikalah needs to go. She is absolutely horrible.

	My word guys, This is these kids future. Get it together!I'm sure you have more than one pair of eyes that are working for you. Who is not doing their job? 	This accusation is completely false. I had taped American Idol last night and watched it this morning and neither of those 3 had wrong number information. I don't know who decided this was the case, but each person had the correct number they were supposed to have. I played it back just to be sure and there was o mistake!

	It did seem like Paula was on something, just not sure what. Maybe this has something to do with that little hit and run incident we have been hearing about. 	I am still angry that Clay did not win. From what I hear as I am from Canada and I would have liked to have voted. That he would have won but for the phone lines and the producer I think only wanted Ruben to win. Which in not fair. Clay is the American Idol even today. Nobody can beat Clay not even the singers in AI4. Speaking of which send Mikalah Gordon home . She cannot sings a note.
