And walkin' is what they'll do in Jessica Simpson's new music video, as she does a remake of Nancy Sinatra's song "These Boots Are Made For Walking." The song will appear on the soundtrack to the upcoming "Dukes of Hazzard" movie, which Simpson plays the role of Daisy Duke in.
"I thought initially it was a LORETTA LYNN song, because I have all her music and she sings it," Jessica admits. "And then everyone's like 'no, that's Nancy Sinatra!' And I'm 24 so I'm like 'okay!' And I get Nancy and I'm like 'this is awesome!'"
Willie Nelson, who plays the role of Uncle Jesse in the movie, also contributed to the song.
The entire video-making process was documented by MTV's "Making the Video," which will air Monday. The soundtrack to "The Dukes of Hazzard" will hit stores July 19th.
Jessica Simpson did such a good job on "These Boot Are Made For Walkin". When she changed the lyrics, I had thought she had actually created the song. She made it hers and did a great job.
jessica simpson is amazing. she hasnt changed and shes not like britney or christina. Shes happy now and confident and it shows. Shes not losing weight for the media or flaunting herself in a loose womanty away on the red carpet or anywhere else. SHes amazing nobody could hate on her~!
I think her new music video "These boots are made for walking" is very much like the commercial with Paris Hilton washing the car. I never knew Jessica was like this. I thought she just was a cute little southern girl who didn't need to use her body to become famous. I definitly see her as a totally different person now. She was my rolemodel, but now i might as well make Britney Spears my rolemodel!
I loved the new video! I'm huuuge country fan and I love Jess i'm a big fan of Newlyweds too!! haha So it was a mix for me so I have to say I did like it a lot and Jess looks amazing!
For the record she's playing a role of Daisy Duke, it's called acting so in no way is it a change of Jessica.

I have seen the video and I think with all her comments about other pop girls who have bared it all in the name of passion for their own inner callings. I think she has trashed brittany and Christina but however she still isn't in a body stocking or tramping around showing a thong and tasteless clothes. She looks great and she is finally trying to show it. She still deserves the same scrutany any other pop princess would get. After all she was always first in line to dish it out. And what goes around always comes around. So good luck to her and her amazing body. She can't help but be who she chooses to be. I think it was a good thing to bring the song to new audiences but the words were great before. The new lyrics are cute but personally I think they shed a side of Jessica no one wanted to see was there. I think people need to realize she isn't a child. And as she discovers herself through lifes journey it won't matter what one video's effect had on the general public. One day it will only matter how much fun she had and how much dedication she had. I think she is passionate about her career and for that I admire her.
Whoever is condemning Jessica on the video- Please!!! Shame on you !!! She is not being loose womanty or anything negative. She is simply playing a part and just having fun. She has worked really hard and it shows. Not just anyone can play the part of Daisy Duke. She is a great person and a hard worker. Jessica- God Bless you and your family and keep up the good work. Your fan in Corpus Christi, TEXAS !!!
