Queen of the Bottom Three on RockStar: INXS stays safe

Suzie McNeil has proclaimed herself the Queen of the Bottom Three. Unfortunately she did that a week too late, as she was completely safe this week. RockStar: INXS kicked up the drama tonight with a one hour results show, featuring some reaction from the rockers back at the mansion after the show.

Next up were some short scenes of what happened back at the mansion after the show. Jordis Unga was upset at "butchering" a really good song, Marty Casey talked about the "less screaming" comment, and Ty Taylor thought that some people didn't do their best and thought they should feel what it's like to be in the bottom three. I wonder if he was talking about Jordis?

Brooke Burke told the rockers that if they felt they deserved the encore, to raise their hands, amazingly enough JD Fortune raised his hand (who would have predicted that?) also going up were Suzie's, Ty's, and Deanna's hands. Brooke asked Ty and Deanna why they felt they deserved the encore. Ty felt like it was a show last night, and not a competition. Deanna was really proud of the song she and Ty wrote. Brooke also asked Mig Ayesa why he didn't feel like he deserved it. Mig answered that he was proud of his song, but felt like others were more deserving.

Dave Navarro said that the performer who got the encore tonight always sets the bar high vocally and nails their performances. But last night, this person went above and beyond. The self-proclaimed Queen of the Bottom Three, Suzie McNeil got the encore this week. She was shocked, but managed to rock the house with her performance of "Start Me Up" by the Rolling Stones.

Then we got an extended look at what happened back at the mansion. The rockers toasted the two original songs. Deanna was upset about the comments that she's in her comfort zone every week. Marty said that if INXS tells him to tone it down, he'll turn it up. He felt like he needed to do it like that because music in general is moving towards more intense stuff like System of a Down. Jordis was terribly upset about her performance, wondering what she would do in the bottom three. Ty wanted to see if the bottom three would reflect the performances.

Brooke then went through and talked to several contestants. Marty talked about his decision to go the opposite direction from what INXS told him. He said he does listen to what INXS tells him and incorporates that into his performance. But he pointed out that he's sat on a stool for two weeks and sang a ballad before that. He wants to meet the band halfway, but can't go all the way or he'll lose his personality. Dave told Marty he misses the scary conductor guy. Tim Farriss back-peddled from the band's comments last night and said that it was one of the best performances. Their comments to him were a test, he said, to see how Marty would handle it, and he handled it great. I agree that he handled it great, but wonder if criticism by fans motivated Tim's back-peddling, or if it truly was a test.

Deanna Johnston talked about her "comfort zone" pointing out that writing an original in hours, rehearsing it, and all that jazz was definitely not comfortable. She says she can't change who she is in her core. Dave agreed that they need to stay true to who they are, as only one of them will get the job, the rest will need to stay who they are. Kirk said the band wants to push the rockers, to see what they are capable of.

JD said it really is about meeting the band halfway, but some people may be better suited for that while others are better suited for other things. I think that was a really diplomatic way for him to say "I'm the one who can meet you halfway, not the others". Dave thinks that JD is really suited to sing INXS' back catalogue. JD says the back catalogue is the reason he became a singer.

Suzie made a hat especially for tonight that said "Queen of the Bottom Three." She's come to terms with it, and will give INXS no reason to say goodbye. Dave told her that she has one of the strongest voices in the competition and he will wear her hat if she is in the bottom three.

Jordis took a big risk with "Dream On" but she didn't realize how big of a risk it was until she went into rehearsal. She said she would probably do the same thing again until she got it right. She also said she would be upset if she wasn't in the bottom three, as everyone else did great. Dave agreed it was Jordis' worst performance ever, but it showed a lot of guts to go for that note. If she did land in the bottom three, at least it would be because she had the guts to do that. Jon would love to hear Jordis sing an INXS song.

Brooke announced that the bottom three at the end of the show last night were Deanna, Ty, and Jordis. Also in the bottom three at some point during the voting were JD, Marty, and Mig - making Suzie the only one who wasn't in the bottom three. Suzie was shocked and said it felt really good to not be in the bottom three. Dave was just thrilled that he didn't have to wear the hat.

One at a time the bottom three were announced, and then performed. The first person into the bottom three was Ty. Dave said he completely didn't understand why Ty was in the bottom. Kirk said the band liked his performance last night and wanted to hear "What You Need" tonight. I like Ty's performance, he had loads of energy and interaction with the crowd. Kirk said it was a great performance, and wanted to know how Ty felt singing INXS. Ty said there is something about the music that makes him want to dance.

Next into the bottom three was Deanna. Dave told her to forget about the comfort zone thing and just do her thing. Andrew told her to sing "Elegantly Wasted." I'm not a big fan of Deanna's voice, but she did look very comfortable singing that song. Andrew asked her how it was to sing INXS. Deanna said she loves to rock hard and dance and this combines both for her.

That left JD, Mig, Marty, and Jordis still in danger. None of them had been in the bottom three before. Just a quick question here - how many of you were screaming at your TV "LET IT BE JD!"? I was!! Anyhow it ended up being Marty, which really upset Dave. Dave called it an absolute crime and tossed his mic down. Jon pointed out that last week Marty was in the top three, and now the bottom three. They wanted him to sing "Don't Change." I think he did very good at meeting the band halfway. He was still himself, a little intense and hard rock, but still singing an INXS song. I thought he was excellent, and apparently so did the crowd. Jon told him soak it up and called it impressive. Marty found it very powerful to be in the bottom three.

At decision time, Tim said that it's not such a bad thing to be in the bottom three anymore, as they get to hear the rockers sing INXS songs. Marty did an awesome job, and would not be going home. Instead they sent Deanna home, which shocked me. I thought they were huge fans of her voice and would save her for another week and send Ty home instead. Deanna was upset, as were the other contestants. Almost everyone was crying. Deanna said she really wanted to lead INXS. She thanked the other rockers and told them they were really talented.

I do wonder why the band back-peddled on their comments from last night. They seemed so sure of themselves that Marty wasn't singing properly and that Mig wasn't singing INXS type songs. Now tonight they seem to have changed their minds. I could bring up an old American Idol conspiracy theory, that they want those guys in the bottom. I do feel that Marty was in the bottom mainly due to the comments by INXS. Ultimately it was a good thing for Marty, I think, to be in the bottom three.

He got to show off that he can do INXS songs and still be himself. That puts Marty a step ahead of JD, Mig, and Jordis. I also think that Marty's comments tonight were very wise. I don't think that the winner should so readily give themselves up just to be a member of INXS. I don't know if that's what INXS is looking for or not, but it won't do anyone any good. I still have high hopes that INXS is truly looking for a new member, not just a temporary fill-in. I also think more than ever that Marty has a good shot at the winning position.

	It is hard to picture INXS without Michael Hutchence. He truly was a great artist and is missed. However the only 2 people I can see bringing the group back into their former glory would be Mig first, and then Marty second. The girls are great but the band and the tunes sound better with male vocals. I wish everyone luck but unless Mig or Marty get the gig I won't be listening to INXS again. It would be too painful.

	I am guilty of favouring MiG in the beginning because of his Aussie connection. However, his talent, confidence and KINDNESS quickly became what mattered most. Suzie is my number 2 pick. a hottie :-) and a darn good singer to boot....although the possibility of a JD / Suzie romance worries me no end. And JD? This MH wannabe / MH nevergonnabe, is obviously hooking his wagon to Susies star in the hope of hitching a ride. Beware however that JD doesnt end up sinkin them both.

	I think marty is one of the best. So is MiG and Jordis. J.D., i think has stayed as long, because inxs wants him to stay for the drama. Suzie, has a good voice, and usually is a good singer, I beleive she will get a good job with solo or in a band. As for Jordis, im sure inxs doesnt want a women singing in their band. Not to many people i can imagine will listen to them if there was a women in their band. She will, for sure get a solo act and become very popular. Ty, has been in the bottom three a few times and isnt the greatest singer. He is too mo-town-ish and doesnt have the same style as inxs would need. He i beleive is in a band, but isnt right for inxs. That leaves, MiG, J.D, and Marty. J.D., has a great voice. Although we have seen that he has trouble working together and can bomb songs easily without trying his hardest. JD, has sang atleast 2-3 songs that were not that great. He doesnt have as many fans as before and is just too cocky. But dont get me wrong, he is good. I beleive MiG and Marty will be the two rockers that inxs has to pick from. MiG is a great singer. He has a good voice and might just be good for inxs. On the other hand, Marty is a little darker, but he has the right idea of meeting inxs halfway. He also has a the idea of being more modern because that is what inxs wants to do. Inxs seems to be leaving little hints that they want marty as their singer. The other night, inxs basically told marty that he screams to much and he needs to change, which he said that he'd meet halfway. I have no idea how he was put in the bottom three by votes. my whole town voted for marty, i did for atleast four hours and i know my whole family did. I didnt know one person who voted for jordis, who completley dived in her preformace. Marty was put in the bottom three. Inxs told him to sing dont change. Dont change, i took that, that they are telling marty not to change. He did a great job and they even made a point that its not a bad thing to be in the bottom three, because now inxs knows that marty can sing inxs songs. I think inxs put him in the bottom three to see if he was capable of singing a inxs song without screeaming. He did.

	Would someone tell me: What other countries are people voting from? Australia? Japan? W.Europe/E. Europe? I think this would make a difference...how about you? I know Asians like their pop very "Candy"...and might explain Marty in the bottom 3...on the otherhand...Marty would get tons of votes from Central, Eastern, and Northern Europe (Germany, Scandinavia, Poland and etc)

Regarding the voting: As soon as the show is aired on East Coast the voting window opens and one can vote for four hours! West Coast - Same story! So I think it's till 2 AM! Show goes to Australia - Same Story - don't know the time! too tired to google! I don't know about Japan - Maybe! But I do know that South East Asian Countries do get to vote! I do know show in broadcasted all over the world including Central Asia and Europe - because if one remembers Mrs. MiG told him on the phone that he looked hot! I know people can’t vote from Central Asia and I don't think European Countries get to vote either, because of the time crunch! 	If J.D. is "evil" and annoying, well most everyone else is just plain cloying. They cry at the drop of a hat. They're like "no you sing you're song" - "no, I want you to win." And they join each other on stage like they're about to sing We Are the World. Gag me. Doesn't anyone notice Ty's clever maneuverings? Co-writing that song with Deanna is probably what got her booted (she should have had the guts to do it on her own) and what saved him. Then he puts the gals on back-up so that he registers as "star" and their personas seem diminished. What distinguishes this from some of J.D.'s antics is that Ty is smart enough not to look into the camera and explain his tactics.

They held him together, tried to help him and love him for the abilities and potentialities and contribution he could make in our world. So I don't disagree when people say that INXS without MH is unthinkable - because he was after all the lead and quite good at it! But I do believe in comebacks! However to be fair, who is more important in a band, the lead or the other members, is like having a pointless discussion on what is more important, good tune or good lyrics to make a song worth listening! In my opinion, both play a vital role! The only way one can digest INXS now is to think of them as a totally new band, because no matter who becomes the lead, s/he would not be able to be MH! And no matter how great one peforms the past INXS tracks - the fact is one would be doing covers!

	Sprout, In my round-a-bout way, I just wanted to make the point that the guys aren't chop liver! To say so is kinda like an insult to Michael H.. I wouldn't expect these fine mates to go to the old folks home, slit their wrist, or wear disguises and start a band called "Camels Breath." If anybody deserves a chance to have another "go", who hit a bump in the road that wasn't their fault. At least in my world where things like fair play are valued. And, besides Will and Sprout and our buds here at Curlio's site wouldn't be enjoying such an "addictive" show!! Are you gonna do the Sunday show for us? Will

	MiG is great because he is Australian, he would probably fit in the best..however, Marty has a very Hutchence-esque vibe about him..I'd be happy with either one, but send that whiny kissass Suzie HOME!

	I'm a canadian ex pat living in Japan and I watch the show on download. Even as a canadian (which incedentally I think is the bond w/ Suzie and JD rather than anything else ... yuck!) I think Mig isthe best choice for the band. Now one of the things that I think really would influence INXS's descision is the emotional stability as well as talent of the preformers, they've lost one member to depression, abuse and suicide do you really think that they would be considering anyone (this includes Suzie and JD) who are at all unstable, prima donnaish or falters under pressure. I think that aside from the obvious talent of all the finalists this consideration will win out. Both Marty and Mig have a great chance fronting this band, Mig having the ability to be a sweeter less dangerous version of MH with prodigous vocal range (if anyone doubts this think of the range Freedy Mercury had -Mig sang this daily and JD could not). Just my 2 cents

	Did anyone see Sunday Night's show, wow, very telling! Looked to me like JD and Jordis are showing a little too much inflexability. JD even more, he evidently, was parotting the INXS songs. Either that or he is pretending to not care anymore, so it wont look like he is incapable. Will

	check out Brianmay.com it states: "Will Queen help the contestant who sings Bo Rhap stay in the competition? Watch and see. " Does that mean, Brian May to the rescue? Or are they talking about the Queen song in general? I would have loved to hear MiG sing that song!! Suzie is just toooooo much of a cry baby! I don't think she has it to sing THAT song. Queen never attemped to sing Bo Rhap live, they played the beginning and end then played a recording in the middle. GO MiG!!!!

	I went to the Brian May site and there is a good interview with Mig! He is in great shape for 35! I enjoyed it much becaise he and Suzy are my favs! It is under news and I think aug 25!
