It seems as if the head honchos behind the American Idols Live tour have relaxed some rather restrictive demands. Members of the media who had attended the earlier concerts in the tour were forced to have their pictures approved by 19 Entertainment before running the pictures. Several media outlets, including the Boston Globe, refused to cave under the pressure and instead ridiculed 19 Entertainment and American Idol (as would I).
It wasn't just the media who were restricted either. Those lucky enough to get a meet and greet with the stars were allowed to take pictures, but not to pose with the Idols or to hand them a cell phone. The restrictions have been relaxed as the tour goes on.
As for why 19 Entertainment may have relaxed its initial photo policy, Thompson said Idol is likely cautious of making its stars seem inaccessible to
the press and by extension, the general public.
"There's already a sense that they are packaged within an inch of their lives," he said. "You don't want your acts to appear as if they've been created by a formula."
Get a life, Who cares. Idol has them sign an agreement to these terms. Whatever the reasons are, why do you care. If these people are signing the agreement then that is what matters. Why do you think Clay Aiken got an attorney and later recommended to the next years group that they needed to do the same before signing anything. It's all about the $$$$$ and 19 is watching out for themselves. They are going to ride the American Idol train for as long as they can getting all they can along the way.

Re-read the article, it talks about restrictions that AI and 19 Entertainment have made on the press, you know that's newpapers and televisions stations, not about the contestants. The contestants sign the agreement, not the press.
Ok, that's it, I finally get it! I have come to the conclusion that "guests" do not read completely, hence they do not comprehend what it is that just passed before their eyes. But they are very eager to press the submit button, filling the world with their vile attempts to appear superior. Again I state, I fear for humanity...
