Steely Dan threaten Owen Wilson with bodily harm

Steely Dan are threatening actor Owen Wilson with bodily harm if he doesn't apologize for "stealing" the character from his latest movie from one of their songs. It seems that Steely Dan have a song called "Cousin Dupree" which talks about a bad houseguest (I presume). Owen's new movie, in case you haven't seen the trillion commercials, is called You, Me & Dupree.
Steely Dan want Owen to come to a show and apologize. In return they'll let him off the hook and give him some free stuff. If not, something bad may happen to Owen. "Instant karma is a fact, Jack," the pair writes. If karma doesn't get the actor, they say, then an apparent tough guy they know might. "One time we saw this guy, with his bare hands, do something so unspeakable, that - but, hey man, let's not even let it get that way, you know?" say Becker and Fagen
Yeah, violence is the way to go. Oh, and for those wondering who the heck Steely Dan are, they used to be a decent band way back in the 70's. Now... well, you be the judge.

My personal opinion of this whole Dupree thing is that Walter Becker and Donald Fagen of Steely Dan are just joking around. Anyone familiar with these guys know many things they say are not to be taken seriously. No doubt this is just some kind of joke or publicity stunt. Incidently, Steely Dan IS a great musical group, and still is. Musically, Becker and Fagen are greatly respected as setting the standard of excellence, especially in the recording studio. Perhaps the author of the above message ought to get up-to-date on the great music of Steely Dan.
