The girls of Rock Star: Supernova have long been behind the guys, with only a few exceptions. Tonight, three of the girls have landed in the bottom three. Unfortunately they did not eliminate all three, so two of them get the chance to once again prove they are far behind those in the lead.
First up was my favorite part of the show - the part where I have to rewind 20 times to figure out what Mumbly-Skunkly says! Back at the mansion after the show, Magni toasts the best show ever - wondering how they will top it next week. He suggests that Lukas Rossi might remember his words. Mumbly-Skunklyh says that he forgot his lyrics and wasn't himself. Everyone has a bad night says MS, and that was his. Broodstar knows how MS feels, as he was there a few weeks ago. Broodstar says that MS had brought everything until now and it was the first time it was akward. Skunky mumbles that he deserves to be in the bottom three, everyone deserves to be on the chopping block at some point. He continues to mumble that the one song that sounds like supernova and he screws it up.
Dave Navarro first talks to Mumbly-Skunkly, telling him he was killing it in the competition, and wondering what happened. MS says that he's only human and it was his turn to screw up. He will take it like a man though, adding that if he gets into the bottom three, which should happen, he knows he is good enough to get out of it. Honestly that was my first moment of respect for Lukas.
Next up was Dave and Dana, with Dave wondering if she got her tattoo. Dana did get a tattoo, of something that is in her soul, a treble clef on her lower hip. She says she's getting a bass clef on the other side. Dave tells her to get it on the back side. Gilby Clarke talks to Ryan Star about why everyone didn't fight for the chance to play with Tommy Lee. Broodstar says it's a good question, and they didn't want to choose the song merely because it was Tommy. He adds that he hopes to get a chance to play with him later on. Then it was Dave and Soccer Mom, Patrice Pike. PattyP said it was amazing to play with Tommy, but she wanted eyes in the back of her head. Dave asks Patty if it was worth risk, Patty says that every song selection is risky. Dave interrupts that he means that being up there with Tommy gives people a sense of what it will look and feel like if Patty wins. Patty says that if you can't pull it off, you shouldn't be on the show. Tommy tells Magni that they know it's hard to be away from family, especially the "little monkeys" and wonders how Magni will handle it. Magni questions that they were moving to Iceland right? He adds that it's in the middle of Europe and the US, thus good for all.
On to the announcement of the encore. Jason asked who thought they deserved the encore and only Dana Andrews and Storm Large raised their hands. Jason Newsted said they wanted to see more hands, but adds that luckily they choose. Amazingly enough, it went to Broodster, Ryan Star. Ryan tells Brooke he needs a piano and so they break for commercial. After the break, Brooke plugs spaces.live.com where you can make your own space dedicated to Rock Star. Then Broodstar performs and again it was great.
Then it was time for the meat, as Brooke announced who was in the bottom at some point during the voting. The Aussie Ken Doll, Toby Rand was in the bottom, much to my satisfaction, Pamela-lite, Jill Gioia, Skipper Dana Andrews, Zayra Alvarez (who shouted it "I knew it") and Soccer Mom Patrice Pike (and someone shouted "WHAT" though I don't know who). First into the bottom, also to my satisfaction was Jill. Gilby Clarke tells her she's an amazing singer, but the voters put her there again. Jill decided to do a song by one of her favorite bands, Heart. She chose "Alone" because it will show the deeper richer tones they have been wanting to hear. I wanted her to do bad. I want her to go home. But she did ... not suck. I'm sorry y'all I can't give it more than that. You'll have to give me time to adjust first! To top it all off, she got a flipping Standing Ovation from Supernova after her performance.
Brooke asks the rest of them if it's true that some of them skipped out on House Band practice. Toby and Dana admit they did. Skipper is therefore number two to the bottom. Jason asks why she missed rehearsal. Dana said it was a horrible reason, she was at a spa. Jason says it's so "rock and roll singer" and Dave said she should win by default for that. Dana adds that she didn't want the House Band to have to wait on them, as it would have been another 30 minutes before she got there. She sang "House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals, but added a more modern vibe to it. It was weird and while I didn't like it, I didn't dislike it.
Toby and Zayra were both off the hook while Soccer Mom was in the bottom. Tommy said he thought they were awesome. Patrice tells everyone that she really means this and she is going to do her best. She picked "Eternal Life" by Jeff Buckley, who she called one of the greatest rockers of our generation. I usually don't like to admit this as I tend to get yelled at, but I've never heard the song, so I'm not the best judge of it. I didn't like it, but then again I don't like Soccer Mom.
Gilby started out by giving the remaining rockers a new assignment for next week. They will get a new Supernova track and have to individually write lyrics and melody to it. Then he went on to the good news that Jill made terrible creative choices, but saved herself tonight. Dana meanwhile was developing well, but they're not sure if they have enough time. Patrice meanwhile is a good singer and performer but it's hard to ignore her being in the bottom three with Tommy Lee performing behind her.
On to Tommy, who told Dana that she's come far but not far enough to keep on the show. Dana took it very well however. Dave told her she's grown and is a joy to watch. He wondered if she regrets getting her tattoo, and she didn't. She thanked them for the opportunity and experience. She also agreed that she needs to grow. Jason told her she had such a positive, fun energy that she brought to the house. He adds to everyone that they are also looking at how people behave, how they handle the new things that happen. Dana is the youngest, but the most mature in how she's handling everything.
It was sad to not see Soccer Mom or Pamela-lite go, but Pamela-lite did manage to save herself. I don't think she'll manage it much longer though. She can obviously do ballads, but she sucks at rock. I was very happy to note that the band isn't impressed by bad behaviour like INXS was. I'm certain they have all had their fill of * bandmembers.
It was sad not to see Jill go. But Dana wasn't going to last much longer anyway. I was just very very disappointed that Lukas didn't make the bottom three. Not that I think he should be kicked off, but to my ears and eyes he clearly had one of the bottom three performances this week. Obviously he has a fan base voting for him.
Patrice did OK tonight. I hadn't heard that song either. But I'm not that familiar with Jeff Buckley, aside from his "big" songs like "Last Goodbye" and his verison of "Hallelujah."
I thought Jill did a very good job. But it's another case -- like Josh on Tuesda -- of the song being perfectly suited to the singer's vocal talents, but not necessarily a good showcase of how they'd fit with Supernova.
I think they should have sent all three of them home. Dana, Jill and Patrice all suck. Although Lukas screwed up this week, he still ROCKS and should win!!!
I agree with Mr. Navarro. It's obvious that atleast 8 of the contestants are not worthy to lead this band. All the chicks except Dilana and Storm have no right to be there and are only there because of their gender and the need for diversity on the t.v. Crossing my fingers that Toby wins everyone over in the coming weeks...he rocks. Only guy who has no real chance is Josh. He's a great white boy Bob Marley impersonator. Would love the idea if they gave them GNR, Motley Crue and Metallica songs, but unlikely. Great to see them get to do original songs...showcase their real talent.
Guest said: Supernova should consider trying-out for Zayra...she's the only one different enough to actually make it big.
Exactly! I hope this week is enough to shut the Zayra haters up. Not even bottom three, baby! Zayra victory!
I don't get home from work until about halfway through the show on Wednesdays, so I usually spend my time driving home praying that Zayra is one of the last two called so that I don't miss her performance. Imagine my surprise when I waltz in to see, first, she hasn't performed and then later as I'm making my way through my microwave burrito, that she's not even in bottom three. America is catching the virus that is Zayra and, baby believe me, we don't want a cure!
Over the top? A tad. Back on earth, glad to see Dana go. it was starting to get embarassing for her. She seemed to eager to nosedive into the dirty Tommy Lee lifestyle. Sure, a tattoo today, nose piercing next week and before you know it, she's shacked up with a bottle blonde choking to death on rum and chicken wings. Glad she made it out when she did.
Jill is still my number one annoyance factor on the show, so they better hurry up and cut her before I start twitching uncontrollably at the sight of short people.
Patrice can hurry up and leave too. In addition to her soccer mom-ness which has been thoroughly documented here, she's also got quite the ego. Everything that comes out of her mouth to the other rockers and even Supernova seems to have stink lines of entitlement coming from it. I read an interview with her where she goes on and on about what it's like to be a bisexual singer. Now who she wants to make her little soccer players with is her business, but come on! Isn't this 2006? Isn't it a given that many, many people in the artistic field are bisexual or gay? Who cares? Girl needs to watch Project Runway and see that being gay or bi does not entitle you to a diva attitude.
ETA: I'll post the link to the Patrice interview later if I can find it again.
I do not follow this much nearly as much as I follow AI. I don't know why since the band on Rockstar is 50 times better. Maybe it is because of my dislike for Chris Navarro. Anyway, I Tivo this show every week and watch the only person who caught my eye when I watched the first show - Dilana. This person is so awesome and versatile, there is no need to watch anyone else. If Dilana does not win, it would be a crime for one thing, but she is getting a lot of exposure and I am sure that she has a great career ahead of her regardless. I will certainly buy her album!
Gee, I'm feeling kinda' Sprout-lite this morning, maybe a couple of bullie-reds would perk me up??????
Well I thought Jill would go last night, but if Dana who was obviously delusional was additionally stupid enough to miss and band practice I see a future at the elks lodges of America for her, if she is lucky.
Jill had attributes but low potential, when you get that old and you are so set in your ways, well you just can't teach an old crack wh*** new tricks.
I enjoying the show anyway, I think it was way better last year, maybe that is why we have so few posters this year??
One more thought, I previously posted that something is wrong with the sound, and Dave on his blog named 6767 or something like that a performance, I think Patrice, sounded fairly good in the studio but was dead awful on TV. So, the fans in the audience and the Boy in SN are getting a different vibe than we are. A friend of mine went on tour a few years back and said his groups tour paid 1 million for lighting and 1 for sound, contracted out of coarse to folk who do that for a speciality, I ask him wasn't that outrageous, he said, to be great in the minds of fans you can't take the chance on being sub-par, there are no excuses for a bad fan experience.
I think it probably sounds great in the studio but they probably have a sound guy for that and then you have TV people doing the sound for the broadcast, and you know
you are talking lobsters and crabs, similar but way different!
Love all. Will
Nikki, your Latin Swirl is entertaining. But, I'd say she is an entertainer who also sings a bit rather than a great singer who entertains! Will
Patrice was so bad last night, from her opening notes all the way through. Lousy performance, her stage presence was barely there. Poor song choice, poor singing. In case I haven't been clear: she sucked.
Dana has a big full voice. (Speaking of big, did anyone else notice that she looked downright chubby last night?) I remember House of the Rising Sun from my junior high dances. I wasn't a big fan of it then, and I'm not now either. But I thought she showed some guts to pick two classic rock songs this week. I still enjoy her voice, though she wasn't ever meant to front Supernova.
It was a great week for the show. The performances were some of the better ones of the season. I had really expected Jill to go home, but they couldn't send her off after she brought it last night.
Note to Supernova: Thank you for showing respect finally to Magni, the class of the competition so far. And PLEASE send Patrice away.
...so long little buddy,be sure to wash off that temporary tattoo before you board the greyhound for the ride home.Zayra aka "no talent hack" is obviously pulling that hispanic vote (illegal maybe) ,that might be whats keeping here there !!
Zayra and the Skunk should have been standing up there to make a bottom 5! I was hoping they would just send the bottom three home...they won't front the band so why make us listen to them week after week? Jill just gets more irritating as the weeks go by (I think I actually liked her at first). Dana is too baby face and cheerleader to go on, Patrice is like a burr under a saddle blanket.....irritating as hell! Zayra is laughable, and skunk boy like the bubble boy....in his own little world.
Curlio, or whoever came up with the nickname for Dana, I really gotta hand it to ya. SKIPPER is so appropriate since she skipped a rehersal...which in turn caused her to get skipped from the show!
Curlio, I'd like to post a couple of short Blog postings by Bill Lanta of Atlanta who contributes on numerious sites , in particular RSGH. Two interesting post for us to comment on.
If not appropriate, as alway do with what you will, your servant, Will

BLISSFUL IGNORANCE... Part III
Not too long ago, I wrote a BLOG entitled "appropriately enough"... BLISSFUL IGNORANCE.
It can still be found if you scroll back a page or two, it's dated... July 25th.
At the time the general consensus was that, SO FAR... RockStar - SUPERNOVA was, to put it politely... kind of "limp" compared to last years RockStar. AND I quickly went on to BLAME the current crop of "newbies" for having come to this competition "older and wiser" and without the "Blissful Ignorance" that last years Rockers were able to bring to Season 1.
Well... The more I write, it seems the fewer "original" ideas I have and I keep circling back to the same thoughts as the CORE issue. It is always EASY to "blame" someone else, in this case 15 someone else's. But the old adage... "Everytime you point a finger at someone, there are 3 pointing back at you." So I think it is time that "WE" (collectively the viewers of RockStar) who watched last season "step up" and take some of the HEAT ourselves. And YES... I am going to trot out that old horse BLISSFUL IGNORANCE.
Maybe... 1 of the reasons that RS2 doesn't seem quite "down to par" with Season One's offering is US!
WE... have lost OUR "Blissful Ignorance".
WE are the ones who KNOW that a woman doesn't have a chance of leading this testosterone laden bunch of men. Doesn't mean we don't WANT them to win, but we know how ticket sales for live concerts are determined when a bunch of 40 year old men who want to go out and tear up a few hotel rooms, get laid again and try and recapture their GLORY DAYS (Thanks Bruce) are involved.
WE KNOW that this current bunch of Rockers KNOW that some of them have been brought to be "used" by Mark Burnett for TV entertainment purposes alone, so IF they have chosen to "use him" to promote themselves and the cynacism causes the performance to suffer, well, that's just the way that it is.
We know that LUK isn't really an ASS, he just plays one on TV.
AND... We KNOW that there is too much Monkey Busines in the Music Business to be assured that a competition is on the up and up and that certain outcomes won't be "tinkered" with. We know this because a judge after Season 1 of SURVIVOR, said... That "Reality TV" shows DON'T fall under the same scrutiny as the "Game Show" scandal of The 50's.
But more importantly... We know it because Last Year... They told us... They weren't necessarily looking for the BEST singer, they were looking for the one who was the Best "FIT" for their band INXS and D%MN if they weren't true to their word. They didn't pick the BEST or even the 2nd or 3rd best singer... Oddly enough... They took the person who they thought BEST FIT their band.
NOW... We have no reason to believe the same exact thing won't happen this year and we are prepared for it. We are NOT going to get our hearts broken again.
Fool me Once, Shame on You... Fool me "TWICE", Shame on ME!
So, here is my pledge to you... For the remainder of the Season, I am going to intentionally "deceive" myself and try and regain my BLISSFUL state of IGNORANCE.
To anyone who I have attempted to beat down, by saying "A woman doesn't have a snowballs chance in heck of winning this competition.", let me first apologize and then let me retract that statement...
MY TRUTH is... I WANT a woman to win this competition. I want STORM to win. I would go see Tommy Lee and Gilby with STORM as their lead singer.
So... From this day forth...
I BELIEVE that there IS a level playing field.
I BELIEVE that a woman does have a fair and equal chance at becoming the lead singer.
I BELIEVE that ONLY people with the fewest number votes will end up in The Bottom 3.
I BELIEVE the sponsors DON'T get a say in who stays and who goes.
I BELIEVE the contestants are NOT cynical, self-serving and jaded already.
I BELIEVE that I am going to enjoy the remainder of RockStar
I BELIEVE that the remaining Rockers are going to start turning in memorable performances.
AND...
I BELIEVE in Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy and that Deanna should never have been voted off the island before Ty and Jordis last year.
I challenge the rest of you RockStar watchers to do likewise and TAKE THE PLEDGE. It's not TOO LATE. Delude yourself, regain your BLISSFUL IGNORANCE and enjoy the rest of the RockStar SuperNova season. It will all be over TOO SOON anyway, and we have seen just HOW BAD the replacement shows can be.

WHY I DON'T LIKE LUKAS!
. . . . . . NEVER MIND that he looks like a cheap French loose woman. I kind of liked that look when Adam Ant did it back in the 80's. That is Tommy Lee's vintage and who Lukas is trying to appeal too.
NEVER MIND the hair style that makes him look like Pepe Le Peu
NEVER MIND the eye make-up that would have Ziggy Stardust asking for a fashion consult.
I have absolutely NOTHING against what Lukas wears to Tuesday's Performance Show, after all he is competing against Zayra's... Michelle Pfieffer - CAT WOMAN costume to be noticed.
Here is WHY I DON'T LIKE LUKAS!
Do you see Zayra wearing her "If You Need A Super Hero - CALL ME" costume around the mansion?
Does DANA keep her Avril Lavigne look once she goes back home?
Does JILL keep her HOT Pants on?
HELL NO!
They all take their "stage clothes" off. Except for Lukas... He wears his "glove", keeps the eye make-up on and never stops being his stage personna.
Now we all have "acts" that we put on when we are out in public. A different "face" that we put on when we are at work rather than home alone. But MOST of us, when we get home, take off our suits or work clothes and put on jeans and a t-shirt or shorts and a halter top.
To get right to the point... (For a change)
I am SKEPTICAL of people who "ARE THEIR ACT".
It is what I didn't like a Taylor "Soul Patrol! Soul Patrol!" Hicks on American Idol this year. He was ALWAYS... "doing his act".
NOW for those of you who are rooting for Lukas to win this... take notice, being your act 24/7 will not keep the suits from hiring you to "do your act" when they want you to. I guess is you WANT to do it the other 22 1/2 hours of the day that is up to you.
People say Lukas is a "really nice guy". HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?
If someone is always "doing their act", then how can you ever be sure you are seeing "The Real" them.
Now maybe a "Punked Up" Chicken Little IS who Lukas is. IF he were a clerk at the 7/11 he'd have eye make-up on and wear a glove. There is always that possibility. But I don't think so...
I think Lukas is an insecure, over-compensationg, hiding something poser... That doesn't have the self-esteem to ever STOP doing his routine and be himself.
I DON'T TRUST HIM!
And I would never hire anybody that I didn't TRUST to be in My Band!
I am grinning from ear to ear after reading Wills comment ... I have been saying that about Lukas from the beginning. Plus, when you look at how he was manipulating people from the beginning (example: to Chris in the 2nd mansion show) and showing how immature he is (even as a good song writer) in the song writing show ... Who on EARTH would want to work with a stuck up, manipulative brat? *sigh* Oy.
Anyway, I HATED Jill's performance ... Her voice is fine in high registers. I can see her singing the national anthem and a very nice experience or maybe a country song (for those who enjoy country) but other than that ... No. I was so depressed that she wasn't kicked off ...
Patrices performance was worse, and it takes skill to get into the bottom three with the band behind you ...
I actually liked Dana's in a way ... Much better than the other two, but obviously still a ways to go.
Was I the only one who thought that it was hysterical when Patrice was trying to convince Jill (in the mansion) that she didn't pick the song because Tommy Lee was playing on it? Two of my least favorite rockers caught on camera being, well, stupid.
I'm also glad there are others that think Storm definately should win (though I do think that Dilana is good as well)!
First .. aren't some of the comments in here getting a bit ... distasteful?
Anyway .. Jason's on my manurelist now for making me suffer through another performance of Ryan REM.
I was surprised to see Dana in the bottom three. (Note to Zayra, well OF COURSE you're gonna be up there if you were in the bottom three at the end of Tuesday's show. Duh!) No surprise that Patrice and Jill ended there too.
Another note, inline with the long Blog quotes above - only one's gonna win, the rest need to maximize the exposure they get. It's free publicity. Last I checked, 5 contestants from last season have albums out or soon to be released.
Jill did .. ok. She still sounds like the current crop of bubblegum-popstars-who-put-on-a-cowboy-hat-and-call-themselves-country singers to me. In fact, after Jill's performance, my wife switched the channel over to Gretchen Wilson doing a Led Zeppelin song ... and my opinion of Jill went even lower as a result.
Dana ... well, to quote my wife .. 'nailed it.' Tuesday was her best performance to date, and she topped it last night.
Patrice .. yawn. What was the comment Tuesday about a time to go to the bathroom, get nachos and drinks, etc.? Yeah.
The first completely shocking cut. Dana had her best two performance of the series and gets cut??? C'mon! OK, maybe she's not right for the band, and has no real chance of making it to the finals, but please .. there are 3 or 4 who don't even deserve to have made it THIS far. Ditch them first.

only the viewers see who were in the bottom three at the end of the Tuesday show, the performers are *NOT* informed so they do NOT know who was in the bottom and who wasn't until the result show.

I love reading all of these comments, it's fun :)
I quote an Atlanta fellow with this post, I only wish I could write as well. Will
Bill Lanta Quoted :WHY I DON'T LIKE LUKAS!

Thank you Will...I loved reading Bill Lanta's view! Much like my own...when it comes to skunk boy. I totally agree, I screamed when Lukas said he didn't put on an act in the first show!?? OMG if that's not an act it's sad for him....he really is living a fantasy!
Zayra looked like a psycho batwoman on Saturday Night Live or something.....some kind of Molly Shannon skit!
Dana was a way better singer than her.................
Zayra and her weak vocals along with her penis nose and her Marilyn Manson makeup (from elimination night) should seriously be a deal breaker for most people. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Can Tommy Lee bang Zayra already..dude just get it over so you can chuck her off! That goes for Jill and ....well Patrice if he's still desperate. I agree that Skunk cannot be trusted as he is in his own little world of Lukas. Would be suprised if a chick got the gig, even though Dilana and Storm are doin great. Toss up between Magni and Toby. I heard a rumour before the series began that Slash, Moby and even Maci Gray were gonna be guest judges??? So much for that idea. I couldnt have put it better when Ryan said he was embarrassed after watching one of Danas performance. She would have been an Idol contender- not a rocker. Just a fish out of water. Maybe Tommy was finished with her....
Posting another very good post from Bill Lanta of RSGH, this is really thought provoking and I would love to get him on our site????

. . . . . . . . Let's be OPTIMISTIC and assume that there will be a RockStar 3 next summer!
And let's "ass-u-me" that Mark Burnett is NOT an idoit, and that he is willing learn from his mistakes.
Does anyone have any "suggestions"... Ways to "tweak" Rock Star to make it better?
So far, I think we are ALL in agreement that letting The Bottom 3 pick their own "Sing For Survival" song is better than having an INXS song chosen for you.
Don't go too far afield here.. try and be realistic, things that they might actually consider doing.
One idea that was discussed yesterday, was how about 1 phone, 1 vote.
OR...
1 phone, 1 vote and you can ONLY vote for who you think needs to go home.
OR... Since this IS a reality TV show... Don't try and "hide" that fact anymore but include some elements of other TV reality shows...
Like... Give The Band "The Power of VETO"... The Public chooses The Bottom 3, but SuperNova (next years band) can SAVE one of them and replace them with someone else to be in The Bottom 3 or they can let it stand just as is?
OR...
How about... IF you get The Encore... You get immunity next week from The Bottom 3 and can't be let go. No matter how bad you might stink up the place.
ANY and ALL ideas are welcome (Except inviting Zayra back as a "regular")
Please... ADD YOUR IDEAS HERE!
I will spend the next few days collecting them and then my next BLOG will be titled...
