Rock Star: Supernova doubles up on the night

Tonight on Rock Star: Supernova was the night we all eagerly awaited. We had our first double elimination. Unfortunately it was not the two rockers we all wanted to be rid of, Pamela-lite and Soccer Mom. Oh well, it was still fun to see! We also got a double encore tonight, making the show double cool.

First up was the part of the show that tests my typing speed. As they didn't talk to Mumbly or Ken, I had little trouble keeping up with the interview and recaps tonight. First up was the mansion before last night's show. Gilby Clarke paid the rockers a surprise visit to present them with 10 shiny new guitars from Gibson. Then we were on to the recap of song selection, focusing on the fact that Dilana was the only one who wanted the song that would be with Gilby Clarke. After the performance night, the rockers had their traditional celebration to a wonderful show. Jill Gioia told everyone that they were nuts to not take the opportunity to rock with Gilby. If they're all there to front Supernova why didn't they fight for the song. Storm Large wonders why Jill didn't do it, and Jill says she already rocked with Gilby (and bombed I might add). Storm wanted "We Are The Champions" and doesn't feel pressured to sing with the band. Zayra Alvarez says that if you pick a song just because of Supernova and don't think if it will suit you, you just hang yourself. Storm and Zayra have excellent points however it seemed to me that Dilana wasn't overly familiar with the song she picked. She stepped up however because she wanted to prove something.

Dave Navarro talked to Summer Sprinkles about her comment that she knows she can rock with Gilby. He wants to know how Gilby knows that. Storm says Gilby knows her history and background and hopes he knows that she wouldn't hump him. She adds that she would break his back. Gilby says it's a matter of chemistry and they need to feel that. Dilana was awesome and showed guts taking the song.

Tommy Lee talked to Brooding Ryan Star wondering what happened to the quiet reserved guy. He loves that Broodstar is coming out of his shell. He adds that there is something about the way he moves that makes him uncomfortable. Broodstar loves that he makes Tommy Lee uncomfortable. Gilby liked that they saw they saw something from everyone that they hadn't seen. He tells everyone that those who make it through the night will go with the guys to Las Vegas on a private jet. Tommy adds they will go to the Hard Rock and Casino where will be playing with one of them (the winner) on New Year's Eve.

Jason announced that it was too tough to pick just one encore, so they did two. First encore went to our own Mumbly- Skunkly - Lukas Rossi. Lukas was even better tonight than last night. He enunciated his words better and just totally rocked. It was like he got an injection of confidence and is running with it. I can totally see him fronting the band if he keeps this up.

The second encore went to Magni, who performed a plugged in version of his song last night. Magni told House Band that he missed them. It was also really cool, and I can see him too as the lead singer for the band.

Finally on to our favorite part - the elmination. Worldwide voting was up 22% from last week, but it still left Jill, Josh Logan, Zayra, Broodstar, and Soccer Mom Patrice Pike in the bottom at some point during the voting. Dave wasn't surprised, as there were a lot of similar faces. First into the bottom was NOT Zayra. She was the first safe! Jill however did land in the bottom. She decided on Aretha Franklin's Respect as rock and roll is based on the blues. First thing I thought is that House Band is * awesome. Jill... not so much.

Next into the bottom was Josh, leading poor Tommy to admit he's getting a complex! He thought the two of them were awesome. Josh admitted he would be disappointing the group again, as he would be once again be strapping on the guitar that got him into trouble last night. He performed Shooting Star by Bad Company. Even strapped to a guitar he was cool and funky. I love that he has always stayed true to himself, but still tries to listen to the band.

Last into the bottom was Broodstar, who was actually a little excited about it. Jason Newsted was surprised however and wondered what happened. He thought maybe people were getting confused as Ryan went from the piano to the weird eye makeup thing. Broodstar chose to do Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode, but changed the arrangment a bit to make it more current. His performance was totally awesome. I can start to see him fronting the band too. This will be a hard selection for Supernova in the end to pick who the winner is.

Gilby said that they didn't agree again. Jill was in the bottom three three times now but sang her way out each time. Josh has a good voice but wonders if it will cut through the loud guitars. He adds that there is a right and wrong time to play the guitar. Ryan has been building up over the last couple of week but they wonder if he's comfortable on stage. Ryan deserves another chance however. Tommy tells everyone that this week will be a first, as it's do or die. The axe falls on both of them. Jill says thanks and it was incredible and yadda yadda. Josh thanks them saying he knew he was different from them. He questions if that means he can't go to Vegas. The rockers laugh, leading Josh to "yell" at them that he just got cut and he is serious - though from his smile I wonder if he was. Jason tells them that their spirit will be missed, and that Josh showed undeniable cool.

Okay, so I'm REALLY disappointed now that Soccer Mom wasn't in the Bottom three as she would have been eliminated with Jill. But you can't have everything. Perhaps Patty will finally leave us next week, but I'm too afraid to hold my breath! I really wonder if there is something about her that comes off better in person than on TV? Perhaps those who have seen the show in person can chime in on that aspect!

	That's spot on. My jaw dropped when she said she had never heard the song. But it totally made sense that she picked the song.

We are Stardust!
	Will's tidbit, from the reality show. Remembering, please, that I have ADD and have the short term memory of a field mouse, and one not at the head of his class. Anyhoo! On the web they show about the same flashback that they show every week of the strong performances and who made the bad choices and who went home. They go to Vegas on a first class private jet that I would love just to fly about the city for a bit, I mean very plush, with the liquid fortifiers which they pursued heavliy to Vegas. The go to the Hard Rock Stage and get an inspiring feel for the room and all that the new lead singer will enjoy, they all seem quite impressed. They are in the Presidential Suite, and it is beyond words. I mean plush plush plush, OMG, beautiful elevated bowling ally, pool tables, wirlpools, and beautiful beyond words. Storm practically did a swan dive into one and was swallowed up by uhooos and awwaahhhhhsss form the others. And their were lots of very pretty girls and lot of spectacular food and drink , and I mean drink! Toby and Lucas over did and passed out on the floor, which was noted by SN as a negative, and T Lee had his arms around the chic�s and even smacked Stormy on the lips, I don�t she could have gracefully declined. Anyway the young Rockers were very impressed as was I, and next they showed the hangovers with Dilanta torturing Toby and Lucas. And yes, there was duct tape involved. On to the music room and the selections (you can get them at RSGH) but they were un-plugged, a band but no big rock sound. Well, Stormy had a brain cloud, yes, she picked a disco song, Z got to do the blank, or original song. They show views of practice and Stormy and Toby were in a bit of a mess. I hope my Stormy pulls it out. To do so she must really change it up! I�m really missing Mr. Sprout about now. Anyhoo��.. Love and Kisses Will edit: Will - 2006-08-15 16:45:55 GMT -

	I think Lucas will win however, i like Magni and Ryan. Patrice's performance was painful to listen to and I think Josh is all wrong. Storm is still there because they like to look at her and that's about it. Dilana has major talent if they are looking for a woman and Zayra I can't waste the time bashing her.

	I will respond to the Soccermom bit. I would love to see her as a soccer mom. Not exactly a soccer mom but her child would have some great genetics. And great potential contributor to this troubled world. She does come accross significantly different than on the TV. I think that maybe her audience is not much of a TV audience either. I am a Patrice Pike fan and Don't find much entertainment value on TV. She is much like at least 1000 times better singing her own tunes in person. I responded on the supernova board. I really like seeing her live and in person. Listening to her do other known musicians songs is really a pretty big let down. Alienating actually. She is easily as big of a contributer to the contemporary music world than any of the hosts and much more so most likely than any of the contestants on this show. Tv is such an odd production process. She does not even really look anything like the way she appears on TV. When I saw the first publicity photos a couple of months ago when the show premiered I was like, O my god what have they done to her. They are trying to make her into some sort of fit the mold kinda character for TV. The camerra is not doing her justice what so ever. I don't think she looks bad I just think she looks like someone different than the someone who left her 9 weeks ago. I know she is still under there though becuase i can hear her familiar self as she breaks under the coversong. If that makes any sense. You will never know unless you come see for yourself. Now I am heavily biased becuase I have been going to this Womans shows for about 4 years and it is worth the effort everytime. Unfortunately for me California is just a we bit out of my entertainment budget. I think her performances on the show could have been better if more of her fans could have been there to see her but travel arrange ments for fans were not well arranged. this production seems pretty bare bones if you were to ask me and I am really rather dissappointed that she entered this dumb contest.

	i think the quote at the bottom about guest being idiots is a little not nice but I will stupe a little lower. I think people that watch rockstar supernova are stupid, self included. 	i am so mad that the freaky looking Zayra didnt get voted out how does she keep not making it in the bottom three she deserves to be there she cant sing shes not attractive and what is with her outfits. Anyways i think people should get there heads out of there butts and kick her off.

	the Z is gone, so am i. I will wait to see who wins in the media, the truth is Z made the show fun, now that she gone, so am i, no one else on the show has her charisma. its just now a boring show with predictable performances, patrice should of gone home.

	Dilana is the best one on Rockstar: Supernova. she is the only contastent that always get's good things about her. I liked her from week one. I think the bottom three on week eight should be, Toby, Patrice, and Storm. Most people know that Toby is the worst boy left in the compotion. well, I thought he should've got out weeks ago. But I think he could make it threw another week. It feels like Patrice is always in the bottom 3. every week me and my family guess who the bottom three isgoing to be, everybody incudes Patrice. But every time she was in the bottom three, she always made it out. i think Tommy likes her alot, how she sings. SHE SHOULD GO!!!! Sometimes Storm get's bad things about her. Sometimes Storm is in the bottom three. it's always sometimes. she isn't bringing enough. Also, she should stick to the normal tune of the song. Like in week 7, shes sung I Will Survive. should of done alot better if she didn't put the rock twist on the song. Risky is good, but that peformance was too risky. she might get out. i'm hoping that Patrice and Storm get out in week 8. The top two i'm guessing will be, Magni, and Dilana. Go Dilana!
