Former Boyband star Justin Timberlake criticized American Idol winner Taylor Hicks in the latest issue of Fashion Rocks magazine. Justin said that he hates American Idol, but is fascinated by it.
"The guy who won people think he looks so normal, and he's so sweet, and he's so earnest, but he can't carry a tune in a bucket. Do you realize how much pressure it is to put on somebody all of a sudden?"
Taylor "can't carry a tune in a bucket" according to Justin. This from a man who can't sing live without a huge backtrack for his vocals. I saw him perform "Sexyback" live on TV last week. The backtrack took care of all the vocals, Justin just sort of bounced around and muttered a few yeahs. Personally I'd rather see Taylor perform live, even if his vocals are "weaker" than Justin's recorded vocals as I would know I would be seeing a live performer.
Oh, Justin's spokesman says that his comments were taken out of context. Yeah, because "can't carry a tune in a bucket" sounds so much nicer if it's in the proper context.

The American Idol phenomenon has from the beginning been viewed with suspicion and envy by other struggling performers who were denied comparable "instant success." One can somewhat understand the resentment, but Justin really made himself look uncool by his viscious remarks about Taylor. There are plenty fans to go around.
Look at another quote from this article regarding his latest album:
"I wanted (the album) to look to a time when everything was really sexy," he says. "Maybe everybody was coked up, but who cares? It was hot. It was all about sex."
Uh huh. Everyone was all coked up and having sex...and it all came to a screeching halt by this lil'ol'virus called HIV....
Taylor Hicks has more talent than Justin Timberlake could ever dream of having! Taylor is a fantastic harmonica player, also plays guitar and writes his own music. Justin is from a teenybopper boy band whose voice is digitally enhanced so much on his CD's that you can't tell what's Justin or what's fabricated.
Timberlake is scared because American Idol is not just some "talent show". So much talent has come from AI, and not just the winners! Look at Jennifer Hudson from Season 3 - she won the coveted role in the upcoming "Dreamgirls" and is already being hailed the favorite for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar!
American Idol is a phenomenon that does produce true talent that America choses. Timberlake's CD sales will suffer because of his sour grapes. Not to mention the ridiculous title of this CD and the first single. He's gone from wholesome boy-band hottie to a first class male skank. YUCK.
Rock on Taylor Hicks! He will outsell Mr. Timberlake with no problem. Justin should be worried.......

What on earth was Justin thinking, except maybe..hey I need some attention right now. I have never had much respect for Justin's talents, and now even less. Kind of tells a story if you have to go to these measures to get someone ot start talking about you again. I come from a musical family and yes Taylor can, sing, and entertain and is far more respectible than Justin ever can be after this stunt.
At least when Taylor Hicks sings you can understand him..he is original..Justin Timberlake is a copy cat of hundreds like him and you cannot understand what he says half the time..Grow Up Justin!!!
I don't beleive Taylor Hicks is not a normal person maybe Justin Tiberlake is not normal. Actually he's not a good singer co'z I never heard him to sing a high note like the American Idol Winner.
