Apparently LL Cool J feels that Def Jam does not have his best interests at heart anymore and is leaving the Def Jam record label after the next upcoming album.
On leaving Def Jam he told Billboard: "For me, I needed to go and work with somebody who really had my best interests at heart."
It's not known yet to what other label LL will move to, or if he will go independent.

I could see that comming!!! LL Cool J still has lots of potencial to make a big records! After 13 albums with Def Jam i agree - it is time for somethin' else! I am pretty sure that LL's next album will be a total banger. What else can I say when 50 is the producer!
He performed on THE VIEW while Barbara Walters was jumping up and down to his song (!!!) and a bunch of old white ladies that didn't have a clue about hip hop were screaming like teenage girls and he ripped his shirt open and they swooned.....it was hilarious!!!!
Yes, that is indeed evidence that, at the very least, he needs a new publicist!
