Scissor Sisters and Pink Floyd not getting along

Pink Floyd's David Gilmour has upset Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears, after Gilmour withdrew an offer to perform together. According to Shears, Gilmour wanted Shears to perform with him on the song "Comfortably Numb," which the Scissor Sisters covered, at two of his solo concerts at Radio City Music Hall. The offer was withdrawn at the last minute however. "It was like taking candy away from a kid. My mom was getting on a plane to come and see me," he said. 
Shears did not have kind words for Gilmour, apparently calling him a *.

Maybe Gilmour thought a Scissor Sister would be a chick and was horrified to learn it wasn't? Seriously though I looked around a bit and couldn't find anything of "why" it would have been withdrawn.

I thought one of them was a "chick".. I know that a few of them are queer as a three dollar bill, though.
