Alex Mercier has recorded an album to help terminally ill kids. The wide reciever had a small hit last year, however as apparently the NCAA prohibits him from profiting off any sale, he and some of his football friends decided to make a complete album to help terminally ill kids:
Last year, he and his teammates recorded a rap song, "Husky Nation." Mercier thought of turning the song into an album. But NCAA rules prohibit him from profiting off any sale. So he thought of Johnson and Soulumination, then consulted with the Pac-10. Last month, Mercier, Wood, Hemphill and teammate Roy Lewis visited Johnson's Seattle studio to take pictures with some of the children she has photographed. "When you meet them and meet the parents, you realize this is pretty important. You realize the severity of the situation," Mercier said.
It's nice to hear that someone that has quite a lot of success decided to do something he loves to do and at the same time helping out kids and their parents that are in need of help.
