My fellow Sproutanians! This week it's Sproutfest. For those who don't know what that is I have good news... I also don't know what it is!
All I can say and all I'm allowed to say is that this week is the week where anything can happen and anything should happen.
Don't be shy and make sure you loose your senses while we wait to see which idol is going to win.
Ooooooh, yes indeed let the madness begin!
Sprout the perfect idiot said: So, we all assumed that we’d get our Top 13 Contestants on Saturday, how wrong were we? Actually, we weren’t that wrong because we were told that we’d get our Top 13 on Saturday, but the producers thought, “Well, aren’t the home viewers like perfect idiots?! Hehe! Let’s try and milk more money from them, because if they are dumb enough to vote like mad for the contestants they had already kicked out once, they can surely do it again and this time let us give them more than 48 hours to prove how stupid they really are!” So keeping that in mind, this new twist was introduced last night and just when you thought that there were no more twists, there was one – a major one!
So shall we begin with the show? Even if y’all say no, the show must go on…
Yes, yes hurry those poor souls already waited for so long!
This is Indian Idol 3 – Wild Card Episode Part Deux!
Better known as India's-Next-Top-Hoax or Project money!
Sprout a.k.a He-who-secretly-wishes-to-be-Alisha's-toy-boy said: Mini Mathur and Hussain informed us how on Friday, the judges chose the 7 Wild Cards from the eliminated bunch and how the 7 fought tooth and nail by giving their best and how on Saturday the voters had chosen Top 4 out of those 7, and how those Top 4 would perform again, so that the viewers can vote their behinds off to select the Top 2, who’d join the Top 13! Wait! What? This is not over yet? Of course not! After ranting in the first paragraph, who am I kidding with my disbelief?! Ah ha! Twist to make more money! Wah Bete! Anyway, so this ludicrous nightmare continues… Sigh!
So Mini introduced the judges, whose thoughts I intercepted!
“Why am I doing this? I have a great personal and professional life and even greater wife!” – Javed Akhtar Saab!
“I listen with my eyes and have a bad taste when it comes to my Boy-Toys!” – Alisha Chinai!
“I get more money to sing just one song and I am a good man, why do they expect me to be rude?” – Udit Narayan!
Since we're on the subject and since we almost earned the licence to be called a writer. Here's something from our dear and deceased friend Moliere to take at heart:

Anyway, so Mini welcomed him and although he addressed Mini, I know in my heart that he was answering musically to Mrs Malek’s song, by singing, “Tumne Pukara Aur Hum Chale Aaye!” So now y’all know whom we shall blame when the show becomes all about Annu!
Oy Champa, A close source told me that you were strolling down the streets of Mumbai with none other than Ajay's favourite judge. Yes, Her Royal Deafness Princess Alisha Chinoi!
Would the horor stop there?? Knowing you? So it's true!! She did whisper the following in your ear:

Sprout the real ladiesman said: Thankfully, neither Mini nor Hussain asked the judges, who should leave the competition and asked the 7 Wild Cards to come on the stage as 4 Wild Cards would perform again!
Anyway, so the elimination process started – Well, it was more like selection process as they just named the 4 Wild Cards!
First up, Amit Paul was told that he qualified! Ankita Mishra received her deserving entry, so did Padmanav Bordoloi! And last but not at all the least Suhit Gosain was told that viewers chose him again! Ding Ding Ding – We Have A Winner! Seriously, I do not blame the junta! I blame Alisha and Annu! They are responsible for bring back this travesty! If he does move on to Top 13 and then remains in the competition at the cost of good singers, there is no one to blame but these two imbecile judges!
So the amazingly talented Aisha Sayed and Bhavin Dhanak, who actually deserved to be in Top 13 were cut and so was poor ladies man Shantanu Sudame!
Ah, don't blame Alisha don't blame Dips's Mr. Malik. Like Ghandi would have said:
Hate the sin. Love the sinner.
Sproutie Salomon said: The judges were asked about the viewers’ choices; Alisha zeroed in on her Boy-Toy and said that he got really lucky thanks to the viewers as his last performance was really weak and he dodged a bullet yet again and that the viewers’ judgement was the best! Oy! I don’t know where to begin! Never mind! Moving on… Javed Saab said that he was really sad that Aisha was eliminated and said that Suhit is nobody when compared to Aisha or Bhavin or Shantanu! And said that if the viewers made three right choices, one wrong choice must be accepted! Then said that people vote for the wrong political parties at times, so this was nothing new! Annu told Suhit that he must prove Javed Saab wrong by working hard! Annu just do him and get this over with!
Be careful for what you wish for. I mean now-a-days they catch everything on camera!
Next you know they will have their one reality soap, a model career (don't say Mr. Malik wouldn't be fit for that), flash the forbidden parts, drive drunk and end up in Jail.
Hmmmmm jail? Arjun, where's my camera?!
Sprout Gosain (that actually sounds good) said: Anyway, so the 4 Wild Cards took the stage to perform – Mini again repeated how the viewers would choose 2 Contestants, who would join the Top 11 from the remaining 4 based on their performances. But Wait! Javed Saab interrupted Mini and said that the viewers would choose only one and the other would be chosen by the judges! Hallelujah! I swear I had a tear in my eye, it’s a different story, it was a dust particle, but can’t y’all just foresee what that means? S(U)HIT* ALL THE WAY!
Javed Saab deserves the Bharat Ratna, The Nobel Price, to be Employee of the month and to be nominated as the Man of the Year Time Magazine but most of all Javed Saab deserves the familyversion of Ben&Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk.

Javed Saab told Amit point-blank that the judges were not going to save him, so his only hope was if the viewers voted for him. Udit and Annu got into a tiff about singers and music directors – in what context was this argument is anyone’s guess, I think it was a personal tiff than anything else. However, Annu said to Udit that they shouldn’t severe the spirit of the contestant and send him packing home. If he has made it this far, one should give Amit a chance to stay!
Honestly, I am a little glad about the negative comments, because they tend to garner more votes, but honestly Amit should not make it to the Finals based on this performance!
Amit you really hate us don’t you! Forgetting your lyrics and all and thus making the chance bigger that the anti-Christ is going to the finals?! Please show some mercy!

Sprout who loves to disagree with me said: Ankita Mishra was the second contestant,
Ankita sang, “Nayi Nayi Yeh Baaten” – She’s back! I was not sure that she will get another chance after his very risky performance on Friday, but I am glad that she is back! Ankita might be the most versatile singer / performer of the bunch. She owns the stage and she sings all the songs with great pomp and amazing expression! The performance was amazing! What I love about Ankita the most is she sings in her voice and does not try to imitate the original singer, and yet she incorporates in the required mood. If she does not get the votes from the viewers, the judges should choose her, because she honestly deserves it!
Alisha said that Ankita gave a brilliant performance. Udit said that to sing with right expressions is a difficult task and Ankita had given two very superlative performances. Annu said that till date it was Ankita’s best performance and the viewers should vote and select Ankita at that very instant! Javed Saab said that he wasn’t thinking about Ankita’s chances, he was only concentrating on who amongst the other three deserved to be in the Finals!
She’s adorable but please people adorable doesn’t mean you have to sing!

Now as far as Sprouts comentary on the show goes it unfortunately stops here. I have no idea where he went of but Sree told me that she saw him and some old woman dressed like a dragqueen in heat running off to the more obscure streets of Mumbai.
She also saw something else but sadly she refuses to speak up about that.
Ah never mind, shall I tell you how yesterdays show ended? Really? Oh how nice!
Ok. after Ankita, Padmanav came with yet another surprise. The cunning little patriot sang Ma tujhe salaam! It was a bit shaky here and there but I’m sure that he made some sentimental Indians pink a little tear away while using their phones as if they were playing Super Mario. Out of the four my vote goes to Amit and Padmanav.
Upnext was Ustad Suhit Gosain the musical gem we’ve been waiting for all our lives. (That’s is if we should believe Her Deafness Princess Alisha Chinoi ofcourse). He performed Tu Aashiqui hain and his rendition was a bit similar to what some of you know as the War in Iraq – he caused thousands of casualties for dubious reasons and still no breakthrough. In fact if I was a song and had to choose between spending a night with Hannibal Lector or come out of Suhit’s throat I would be rushing to sign up for the former!
But no need for that thanks to Javed (our man) Sahab who has taken upon him the task of protecting us innocent souls from evil. This time by giving Suhit the kind of comments we all prayed for. Not everybody agreed; Her deafness princess Alisha defended her fantasies yet again. Sigh, Alisha baby I never thought I would say this to a woman but really stop thinking with your Alisha! Really I beg of you - do it for us, do it for the children.
Esspecially for Venkat, the poor lad can't stop crying. Don't you worry Venkat you can always come to Auntie Uttam!
Anyway, it must be said that Suhit for the first time had some human expressions on his face and for a moment I felt sorry for him. Thank god that moment didn’t last long and the memory of his verbal abuse made me wonder if the heavy criticism by Javed made the circle complete. I mean, did Ustad Suhit Gosain got what he deserved? Is karma really a bitch? Would there be any justice in this rotten world? Is he going to the finals? Who knows… s.h.i.t. happens!
As for us.. Enjoy Sproutfest, enjoy posting and enjoy the show!

I really like Padmanav's song choices. Not the usual Tu hi meri shab hai style light romantic fare or old songs that are classics to the point of cliches.
Now, Amit had hit the right note last time, but he had to go and choose Chal Chale. Its just not that memorable with every alternate guy singing similar stuff. I think the backstage mimicry helped him in the last round. Might help Prashant too, later. See, Aisha should have tried to be funny, or made enough friends who would imitate her, or been a controversy of some sort..just tried to be good tv material :P

Well said! I enjoy reading your pearls of wisdom. I hate S(u)hit for hitting us every week with his bizarre vocal cords which can serve a better purpose if used by the armed forces as a national weapon. This amazingly untalented lad has been given more chances to prove himself than all the star kids put together, and yet he returns every week to make us wonder what we don't see in him that others seemingly do.
His biggest supporter, the mind boggling Chinoy can really Annoy when she is shamelessly jumping out of her chair and drawing out her weapons to fight Javed saab for this worthless piece of wannabe. The way she loyally defends him also makes me suspect that he may be her secret child she had given up for adoption, or maybe he is her just-found baby brother that she lost in a mela. However for her to lose it over his banal looks (when Bhavin, Amit, and a few others are far better looking than this freak) makes one wonder if she is on something.
Also, she keeps calling him cool dude. The only cool thing about this dud is when he quietly lies still like a dead frog and allows Javed saab to dissect him with his scalpel-sharp insults. Anyway, Ms. Made in India can keep making this show frighteningly hilarious by voting for this little boy who does not look like he is Made in India from any angle, and flush real talent down for all I care. If Suhit reaches the Summit, then we can tell little kids and even mean it: Talent or no talent, they can really be anything they want to be, even Bharat ki shaan!

You people are biased and self-serving rather than objectively discussing a subject

Instead of going into Suhit-Alisha-Annu rant, I would like to say that Javed Saab's continuous attack against Suhit might be actually helping him garner extra votes.
As the II3 progresses, Udit is turning more and more into a silent dummy, Alisha is turning more irritating (even when Suhit is not around) and Javed Saab is being more frank (and refreshing).
Now that there is 2 places from 4, I guess the Judges' choice will be Suhit and the other three have to fight it out for the last spot.
Believe me, when I say I am saying this absolutely objectively, Sprout and company are always right and vociforous in their opinion (for talent!). I wish the judges would read these comments and be as honest and forthright as folks on this forum (or get inspired by these comments).
People they said it was impossible but it finally happened.. I think I'm in love!

Ok, i have a theory that I just thought abt last night, so here goes....
To me it seems as though indian idol is rigged, jippoed, fixed, whatever you want to call it. I think that the producers of the show looked for the most controvertial person/s. And so they picked two, Suhit and Ankita. Now Ankita is not bad at all, but she is different, and that is what they looking for.
Ok so now they figure Suhit is gonna add excitement to the show.. 1) he cant sing, but he has attitude and 2) alisha loves him and javed hates him :)
Right, so this is what the producer people do. They see who is getting the most attention from everyone, and so they kick those contestants out right before the wildcard. and it just happens to be the 2 most controvertial contestants (Suhit and Ankit).
Right cool, that all good, now to make more money, lets wildcard them, we all know that there are crazy teenyboppers out there that luurrrvvveeee suhit, so money making... YAY!
right kewl, bring him into the top 7, we all know people will vote for him.
And now that Javed saab is saying what he feels, even more drama. Producers are loving this, more sympathy votes from the public for our darling Suhit.
Ankita, the poor girl, has to go through this extreme makeover in both song and character, and once again be dubbed by Mini.
Great! Now as expected, those 2 are in the final 4, and you know what??? I will not be surprised if they make the final 2. Suhit, the darling of the teenyboppers, and Ankita, the 'darling' of the judges.
Now, its a pity that Amit messed up coz otherwise he could have been the judges choice. I would love it if Padmanav gets in, but his chances are not good.
And Bhavin not getting voted in? That does not make sense to me, he is a hottie and he can sing. Very stylish too, so why wasnt he voted for?

Believe you me. And if you really care for Made in India, then try some of the modeling brands available in Bollywood. They are A-class material and will not hurt your eardrums while pleasing your senses:)

OKAY, You know what it took me three days for this - but I am at peace with - S(U)HIT. I am ready to see him back on roll....competing with the more deserved and talented ones....and infact being the sole reason for their eliminations.
Ankita - still the irritating one - actually did a decent job this episode.
And, Amit - guys I literally was in tears when he blew it....seems like all the forces of universe are working with S(U)HIT to be back.
My guess....Ankita and Suhit will be back in party town.
I think the three judges excluding Javed Saab are stupid and fools. They don't understand what a real artist is. Javed Akhtar is really clever. Suhit is not a singer from any angle. My dog sings better than him!!!
and if you excuse me then I also love reading some of history books especially something related to wordl war's or Hitler I have just started reading that "Mein Kamph"
I'm still trying to comeback to the mortal world.. this really killed me.
Sigh... and here's I was wondering where he got his sweet, thoughtful and inspiring personality from.
On a serious note: I hate to say it but I would really miss him if he gets voted out... Let's face it he's the bringer of joy!
This show is all about money. Producers don't care about the talent, all they are interested in is more votes, and guess who sms's the most, yup, the teeners, so our beloved S*HIT is definitely gonna be in for a long time.
One more thing, I personally have nothing against S*HIT. It's not his fault the teeners vote for him, its not his fault the judges keep bringing him back, his ONLY fault is he can't sing. The Producers, Teeners, and the judges should be blamed for S*HIT still in the SHOW :-)

This is why I agree with you that he's this years Sanjaya. (Okay where did I go wrong Sanjaya IS this years Sanjaya.. my head, my head). Definitly not personality wise.. but gimmick,singing,hoax wise things look a tad bit too similar.

Me! If you are a proffesional singer and really care about your profession it must be devastating to "loose" from.. umm the less gifted.
I really hope that in the future (or right now) a show rises like - SRGMP under Sonu Nigam - instead of this.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to hear the finalist perform but to be frank. Only Padmanav's first wildcard perfomance brought back some of the sparkle's we saw during last years piano rounds with Karunya, Amey, Renuka Deshpande, Anuj Sharma etc. etc.
My prayer is that Suhit will make them feel the heat so that they will sing the lungs out of their bodies.
Also off topic: I fear for Chang as I'm already a bit bored with his singing and I get the feeling that I'm not the only one on this one. His blog on the other hand stays interesting I really, really love his writings.

My 2 cents
Amit: Was really good in the last episode. Although he forgot a few lines, that does not make him a bad singer. Please vote for him. I am hoping for a miracle!
Ankita: She really surprised me in this episode (although I never found her to be a bad singer, in this episode she was really good). She was controlled and had the right balance vis. a vis. singing and emoting. i.e she did not go over the top
Padmanabh: He was really really good in this episode. He showed maturity and range.
S*hit: I tried very hard and heard him objectively. There is a very fine line between "Surila" and "Besura" and to put it kindly, he was always on the cusp between the two. I feel bad for him, however, there are just too many talented singers that have been eliminated.

Good lord! Suhit actually has a website. Well, I guess it proves it, judging by the images he has on...this guy is full of himself! I bet he wont be able to walk on the streets of Gurgaon "safe" anymore, what with his crazy stalker following....LOLS
