Indian Idol 3 - Personalities Shine On The Second Gala Sprout
 2007-07-07 10:07:06
Television Last week, Deepa as usual did an outstanding job of covering the First Gala and the Result Show, despite her busy schedule, so once again kudos to her and many thanks! This week, I am back in the driver’s seat! Now, here’s a fact, we try and incorporate most of the conversations in the show – word for word – and that unfortunately takes a lot of time, because we cannot ad-lib when we are quoting, and since many of y’all stated that y’all wanted instant recaps, I have come up with a solution – we would add the judges comments later on… if y’all desire! But now let’s try a new format and see how feasible it is! So are y’all ready? Let’s get to it!

This is Indian Idol 3!

The Second Gala of Indian Idol 3 started with Mini Mathur and Hussain’s voice-over reminding us – how brutally Richa Aneja was sent home packing! I think her exit song was a very cruel joke, I mean anyone would cry singing those words after getting eliminated, why should Richa be any exception?! Richa’s departure had nothing to do with her performance in the First Gala; she was the victim of great hatred! Oy Vey! I am happy she is gone before it got uglier! Ironically, her departure touched very many people who hated her – mind you, not all were sad! In any case, it is my belief that Richa just might be a force to reckon with in the future! So all is not lost!

Anyway, Mini and Hussain explained how Richa’s elimination had scared and motivated the remaining 12 and how they were ready to give their all in Performance Round!

But before the performances started, they showed clip of three young kids who ran away from home to be a part of Indian Idol 3 and they actually invited one kid with his family on the show and though Javed Akhtar Saab and Annu Malek reprimanded him for running away, I thought that the decision to acknowledge the kid was extremely dangerous and in poor taste, because knowing the fact that majority of Indians are nuts about being in front of the camera, this might just encourage more youngsters to do the same in the future, because ultimately it is about getting in front of the camera!

Anyway…

The Theme for Second Gala was Contestant’s Choice – Songs that best described the personalities of 12 Finalists!

Here’s the question this week –

What Song Best Describes Your Personality?

Answer is mandatory! Kidding! But try it, it might be fun!

Anyway, so the hosts asked the esteemed judges what song best describes their personalities!

Javed Akhtar Saab sang (that’s right) “Mein Zindagi Ka Saath Nimbhata Chala Gaya, Haar Fikr Ko Dhuae Mein Udaata Chala Gaya!”

Javed Saab, I loved the choice, but I would assume most smokers would choose this song, not that I know if you smoke or not, but this song is anything but a campaign for anti-smoking and UK just banned smoking in public!

Alisha Chinai’s choice was her hit, “Made In India!”

Alisha honey, the song is about you wanting a guy made in India, how exactly does that describe your personality? Oh I get it; your personality is about finding a guy! The Suhit obsession makes sense now!

Udit Narayan sang, “Mein Yahaan, Mein Yahaan!”

Udit sweetie, to be present in so many places is not always good news; I mean this attitude has hurt you massively at the domestic front, hasn’t it?

Annu Malek – Ok, I knew he would sing, so I had braced myself and I’ll admit I didn’t brace myself too well, because by the time he was through I was literally on the floor, laughing my guts out! Oh yeah, he sang, “Ek Garam Chai Ki Pyaali Ho!”

So Annu, your personality states that you crave for any gal, who’d give you a hot cuppa tea? Good God! And I thought we Britons were nuts about the tea! Well, I am part Briton, so it counts! Seriously dude, you can’t sing!

So, after Annu was done, I was ready for anyone’s singing and thankfully, Mini and Hussain called on the first contestant!

The First Contestant was Meiyang Chang

Chang stated that he had a very carefree attitude during his school days and hence, he decided to sing, “Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai” – Chang has an unpredictable voice, I mean I have heard him sing so many times, but if one asks me to recall his voice, I can’t! He is no doubt a versatile singer, but it is my belief that he has to have some sort of base voice or he will be lost as just another good singer! What I am trying to say is he needs a signature as far as voice is concerned!

The performance was rather great, because he sang the song ably, with right punches and great modulation, but I think he needs to find his identity to be the next Idol!

The judges loved his performance!

My verdict – 8/10!
__

The Second Contestant was Charu Semwal...

Charu stated that ever since she was a young kid, everyone called her a “Fairy”, and hence her choice was Suneeta Rao’s amazing hit, “Pari Hu Mein” – Ok, I will be frank, this is like my all-time favourite Indi-Pop song, the way Suneeta has rendered this song, she has managed to create that required ethereal mood. So it was a very ambitious choice made by Charu!

Unfortunately, Charu could not do total justice to the song, she started weak, which was a pity because the impact starts with the first line, ‘Aayi Mein To Aayi’! Then Charu forgot a line in the second verse, which is unacceptable to me, if you are singing the song since childhood! It was an average performance at best and I was really saddened by that; as Charu is a really great singer!

Barring Annu, the other judges liked her performance! Imagine the shock, I actually agreed with Annu!

My Verdict – 5/10!
__

The Third Contestant was Amit Paul...

Amit stated that he was rather naughty and wanted people to know that fact, hence he chose, “Jhoomru” – I always thought that Amit was a good singer, but with this song, he proved that he was a great singer. The song is a Kishore Kumar’s masterpiece and a very tough song to tackle! I have found that to yodel ably is extremely difficult, trust me, I have tried! But Amit yodelled with great ease and gave a smashing performance!

Javed Saab gave him possibly the best compliment that Kishore Kumar would have approved of Amit’s singing! All the other judges liked the performance as well!

My Verdict – 9/10!
__

The Fourth Contestant was Ankita Mishra...

Ankita has a colourful personality and by the way, Parleen more or less choreographs Ankita’s performances… and Ankita stated that “Rangeela Re” depicted her personality beautifully! I totally agreed with her, this gal is an awesome performer, she knows how to sing well and how to create drama while performing! The great thing about this performance was that she utilized the stage space brilliantly, she even used props! It was a mind-blowing performance!

If there was any fault with Ankita’s performance, it was the fact that she sometimes slips in singing, because performance takes the precedence. But I certainly think that Ankita is the most brilliant performer among the 12 Finalists!

The judges loved her performance, but asked her to prefect her singing… Annu added that he had never seen any contestant in the history of Indian Idol make such a great entry!

My Verdict – 9/10! I would have loved to give her a 10, but she still needs to work harder!
__

The Fifth Contestant was Emon Chatterjee...

Emon said that he was ambitious and has numerous desires, hence he decided to tackle, “Chaand Taare” – Since the Galas have started, I have noticed regretfully that Emon tends to over-sing or under-sing the songs! Emon, no doubt is a wonderful singer with a very cute personality, but the fact is he should know when he should stop over-selling the song! It was a good performance, I even love the song, but it could have been better!

Ok, here’s the fact, the song starts with Piano intro, Emon deleted that part and then went for the generic verses, I thought he took an easy way out, he could have been the greatest, but he toned down a lot after last week’s criticism, and that’s where Emon failed! I was truly unhappy about his performance!

The judges said that Emon has a great voice but the spark was missing! Annu went and said that Emon was a victim of over-confidence!

I don’t agree with Annu, but I do agree that Emon is not totally in the game!

My Verdict – 6/10! I know it shocks me too!
__

The Sixth Contestant was Smita Adhikari...

Smita stated that she is a happy person, who is lost in her own world and hence she chose “Khush Rang Heena” as it best described her personality! Smita stating that she was a happy person was kind of an irony as she received the coveted Cry-Baby Award on Roo-Ba-Roo! I love Smita, I think she has great potential, but this performance was just bad! Here’s the deal, most think that Heena’s title track is probably very easy to tackle, but the fact is, it just might be the most difficult song ever composed! There are so many singing ornamentations used in composing each word to music, that the song is laden with harkats… if you listen to the original carefully, you would find so many micro tunes that it may just shock you!

Smita tried no doubt, but her singing was flat and she eliminated the tough Alaaps, Taans etc that makes this song brilliant! It was a total let-down, because I sincerely thought with all the classical training Smita has had, she could have done a great job, but alas, she couldn’t!

The judges all thought that Smita messed up, except Alisha and this led to a showdown between Annu and Alisha! Can’t we all just vote out both these judges? Sigh!

My Verdict – 3/10! A definite candidate for Bottom Two!
__

The Seventh Contestant was Prashant Tamang...

Prashant stated that he was considered very dependable and he was indeed, and hence his choice was “Mein Hu Na” – I am so going to invite ire of Save Prashant Lobby, but here’s what I have noticed, when Prashant hits certain notes, he tends to get a little nasal and I think he should really work on that, saying that I commend Prashant that despite not going under any musical training, he is a natural singer, he is no doubt good, but I think a little training will help him eliminate the minor flaws he has and he can be one of the greatest singers of India, if not the world!

His performance was good, he sings all the songs ably and I know that he’ll be safe!

All the judges barring Annu thought he did a great job! Your funeral Annu!

My Verdict – 6/10!
__

The Eighth Contestant was Abhishek Kumar...

After high drama last week, Abhishek received the Drama-King Award on Roo-Ba-Roo! Abhishek stated that he felt that his personality was that of a heartbreaker and hence he chose, “Bachna Aye Haseeno” – I’ll be brutally honest – I hated his performance! Not only was he off-key, he was off-tempo! He emphasised on the word ‘Bachna’ in a weird way and his ‘Ho Ho’ lacked the required punch!

Abhishek is a great singer, but this was just not his day! I hope this does not land him in Bottom Four, because frankly he deserves to be there!

The Judges with the exception of Alisha actually agreed with me and Annu more or less said the very things that I found faulty with Abhishek’s performance, and now allow me to kill myself! Ok fine, after completing the recap!

My Verdict – 4/10!
__

The Ninth Contestant was Deepali...

Deepali had confessed that she would concentrate on the performance, not just singing! Deepali stated her forte was singing! And according to her; she wanted a personality, which would be magical and hence zeroed in on “Jab Chhaye Mera Jadoo” – Oh My God! What flawless singing! In my opinion, this was the best singing of the night! As far as performance goes, she is no Ankita, but hey, at least she tried!

I am going to be a little shallow, I think Deepali should do something about her eyebrows; she appears to have a Uni-brow, and although that’s not technically true, I definitely think that if she got rid of the excess where the brows meet, she’d be a knockout! Other than that – Deepali is awesome!

Judges loved her comeback and predicted that she was a Top Three Candidate!

My Verdict – 10/10! What can I say, I loved her singing!
__

The Tenth Contestant was Jolly Das...

Jolly stated that her personality was very peppy and she was rather unique, and hence she chose an obscure song from Zubeida, “Mein Albeli” – I will be truthful, I never liked Jolly, not this year, nor last year! The problem with Jolly is that she sings with a restrained voice and her enunciations are absolutely pathetic! I had to strain my ears to actually understand what she was singing! It was a horrible performance!

She actually had shocked me last week by singing, “Bairi Piya” decently, but this week, Jolly I knew was back and it is time for Jolly to leave the competition for good! One would think that if one gets more than a year’s time to prepare for the competition, one would work their butts off, not so in Jolly’s case!

The judges hated Jolly’s performance about her personality! Alisha tried to be nice, but Annu got on her case and it got really uncomfortable!

My Verdict – 2/10! Bye Bye Jolly!
__

The Eleventh Contestant was Parleen Singh Gill...

Parleen is no doubt one of the best looking guys in the competition, but his choice of song based on his personality was a little too presumptuous for me, Parleen sang, “I Am The Best” – Look, Parleen is great looking, sexy, great performer etc, but Parleen has yet to prove that he is indeed a great singer! I wasn’t too happy with his performance, it was nowhere near perfect, and it was just an above average performance!

Well that was my thinking, because apparently the judges loved his performance! Annu even gave him a hug after creating unnecessary drama! Huh! So I was the only one who thought that he was going flat many times? Maybe! Oy Vey! Oh but I loved his mum and his brother – very cute!

My Verdict – 4/10!
__

The Twelfth was Puja Chatterjee...

Puja was devastated last week as she had received severe criticism from the judges and was subsequently in Bottom Two, so this week Puja was keen to give a great performance! Puja described her personality as peppy, happy and naughty! And hence she zeroed in on, "Hawa Hawaii" – I adore Puja, I love her voice, but I have to be truthful, she was far from being perfect! She had tremendous difficulty with the last lines of the first verse and kept on repeating them more than necessary! she also ad-libbed a bit, but all was not lost, she managed to sing the song well in totality!

I have a fear that in future the judges would harp on her for having a voice of a young gal, which she is and I am hoping that I am totally wrong about that!

Puja said that she was very sad that she had pained the judges last week by not giving a good performance and had worked real hard to please them and the judges went, “Aw!” and gave her good critique! Ok, I know I am being a bitch, but honestly, weren’t Puja’s dialogues that of an apple polisher? In any case, the judges were happy and Puja wasn’t bad, so we all are happy!

My Verdict – 7/10!
__

Now my only rant –

Ok, will someone please tell Annu and Alisha that they are no Simon Cowell or Paula Abdul? Seriously, Hussain was right (even though he was jesting) that Annu has an inflated ego! Annu was right on many counts, but it becomes difficult to respect his judgements thanks to his tool-like behaviour! Also, is Alisha for real? Come on woman, speak your mind, don’t be such a goody two shoes!

Now my choices for Bottom Two

Jolly Das and Smita Adhikari, it is my belief that Jolly should go home!

Ok, that’s the way the cookie crumbled! Did y’all like the new format? Let us know! Thanks!

Also, see y’all with the results! Till then Au Revoir!

First of all, I love the new format. Congratulations on posting this so quickly - I can't wait to read your reviews. Is your recap published somewhere? I don't think many people know about this site and I'm sure a lot of people would love to read your reviews.

I think Amit Paul has everything to be an Indian Idol. I love his expressions, stage presence and confidence.

I agree that Ankita is great - however, in the judges eyes she can do no wrong, and even though she gets off key a lot of the times, they are easy on her (like Anu Malik explaining how she was afraid of falling down from the chair yesterday and that's why went off key, blah blah).

I think Deepali is the best singer among the girls, but the judges keep giving her a hard time for her performance.

Javed Akhtar was dead on when he told Smita that her song was about bringing happiness but she lacked exuberance etc. I feel very sad watching Smita. She seems so unhappy - I hope she is put out of her misery soon.....

I think we can all agree Emon is by far is the best singing talent in the competition. Someone needs to guide him as to how to sing a particular song. He does a lot of improvisation in every song and that seems to be hurting him. Technically, he's a flawless vocalist. Sometime I can't figure out if I'm listening to Emon or Sonu!

Ok..I risk incurring the wrath of the Ankita Mishra fan club, but I have to say this..I'm still waiting for the lady to actually 'sing'. Agreed..using props and dancing are fine things to do, but Indian idol is essentially meant to look for a SINGER..once we have a bunch of really really excellent singers, we could look for the best performer among them. But giving the dancing bit precedence over the singing is madness. Ankita is a mediocre singer at best and as such, all the dancing and props in the world wouldn't impress me. Her 'Rangeela re' sounds exactly the way she sang it (dull) if you listen to it with your eyes closed. I rest my case. She can sing at college events and social gatherings but not on a platform as big as this.
Also, Anu Malik ought to realise that the judges are supposed to judge the contestants, not each other. Telling Alisha that something's wrong with her ears is childish and totally uncalled for. And he probably thinks of himself as possessing the 'inner eye' if he can look into Emon's psyche and conclude that he is becoming overconfident. Anu is just pissed with Emon's mimicry of his weird singing and won't hesitate to say anything to bring the poor boy down. What part of Emon looked 'overconfident' for heaven's sake. He is a fabulous singer and his notes are so perfect they leave me speechless at times. It's not fair to make him mimic the judges and then for the immature judges to bear him grudges for it.

"What part of Emon looked 'overconfident' for heaven's sake"

My thoughts exactly! For the past two weeks, I've been trying to see how they might think he was over-confident, and I just don't. Do they even know what the word means...jeez. I'm probably being biased, but I've noticed that the judges are way too picky about little details about Emon and let the same things slide in others (not all the time of course). I donno, this overconfidence thing is really getting old now and it WILL affect the voting.

I actually felt Emon has become a victim of "perceived" over confidence. I believe his mimicry might have led him to earn that notorious impression. In all honesty, the guy looked completely bummed out in the Galas this weekweeeeh . I believe he was trying ultra hard to look humble, and his rather glum attire (dude, why the drab colors and the extra-large jacket??) really made him look kind of sad, anything but OVERCONFIDENT!

Any case, I agree with you Sprout: Smita has disappointed me as well. I really love her, and loved the makeover on today's elimination episode, but she needs to reflect her talent (not just the extreme "look-over," in her words) better or she will be next! snif

ANKITA ROCKED! Rangeela Re suited her and she kicked *with the song! This girl is definitely here for the long run

Puja, for some reason, was never my favorite. If anyone seemed a little overconfident in this episode, then it was definitely her--oh did I forget Mr. I am the best?? Any case, Puja kind of murdered Hawa Hawaii for me. I mean it was okay, but being a huge Sri fan, I was not impressed. Oh well, she tried, I guess:Z

Deepali was good in terms of singing and I hope she selects more diverse songs in the futureyay!. She needs to do something outstanding to bring her personality across, for as of now she is perfect but across as "Ms. Plain Jane," especially in comparison with the rest.

Chang is just barely making it through. I think he selects songs that appear quite easy to sing and then just jazzes them up with some nakhras in the end, but I don't seem him trying anything challenging or giving a mind-blowing performance. Ditto for Prashant--though I am sure this will not affect his state-wide organized voting campaign

As for Charu, I feel she will be in the Bottom 4 unless she does something dramatic in the next round. "Pari hoon mein", will soon become "pari hoon mein [Bottom 4 mein].";)

As for Amit, he is okay. He did a good job this weekyay!

Abhishek, I really dont' know. He sings well, but I somehow don't connect with him. Perhaps, it was that whole Ekta kapoor episode...I guess it will take me a while to get over it..*geez*:X

So, yes, my favorites are still Ankita, Emon, and Deepali. Though, the elimination round this week came as a shock--C'est la vie on Indian Idol

First off all thanks to Sprout for a quick recap. I love the format. Now for my two cents:I felt that although Smita did not sing her song exuberantly, at least she was in tune (unlike Charu and others), so she was perhaps 5/10. Regarding Emon-he should perhaps been a 7/10 (although he still needs to work on the clarity of his words, case in point the way he ended "Bas Itna sa khwab hai" -Instead of "Hai: it sounded like "Hey" Emon is very talented, so if you are reading this, pull up your socks, cause you are a good singer. I found Amit and Deepali great on this episode (Ankita was good with a good perfromance as well). Regarding Jolly, I'll be honest, I never connected with her, so if she leaves, it will be OK. However, after that it will be tough to see anyone go.

Gang agree with comments on Emon, he is a good singer and was def not over confident. I think Anu is just picking on him for ego (mimicry reasons.)

The best performances were from Ankita and Parleen - if the review from the gay dude today is right and Parleen did coreograph most of Anki's steps more kudos to Parleen. On that side note, who takes the time to comment on Deepali's UniBrow? Geez that was a catty gay signature comment. Deepali sings excellents, looks great and on top of that is a total professional and sweetie when it comes to other contestants. The dude who did the review seems to have an anti Parleen bias, seems to be a 101 case of lust haha - and his review with the bottom two is posted after the results were already out on the web based on the earlier India viewers

Love this site and the comments! Wish the reviewers would state names, gender, orientation (help identify their talents and biases hehe) AGE and whether they are part Britons -- dang those part Britons and tea comments were way to filmi Stardust trash rag worthy :)

ROFL!

Ooh Burn! Not!

What makes you think I am a guy? LOL!

I think you just made many of my friends really happy by calling me a gay dude! However, you aren’t the first person to do that or the last! Whether I am gay or not is actually trivial, but I am actually honoured that I can be as catty and bitchy as gay guys! At least, I have finally learnt something right! So thank you! And you thought I would get offended, right? Sorry, from where I come from, being gay is a good thing!

Perhaps you should see Roo-Ba-Roo, you’d know that Parleen admitted that he choreographed Ankita’s performances! As far as Deepali’s uni-brow is concerned, it disturbs me and I am not the only one!

Yeah I am so in lust with Parleen that I just have to criticize him! See people, if I do not support someone’s favourite, and tell it like it is – this is what I get! Ain’t that a joy? Parleen is good looking bloke, but so not my type, maybe he is yours? I am not sure! Also, I don’t care!

Maybe, you should check the timing of the post – it was way before the results were declared on television. And besides that fact – any idiot would have guessed the Bottom Two based on the performances on Friday! I hardly did anything more than guess the obvious! So good try, but no sale!

Thanks for loving the site and giving so many back-handed compliments and I think it is rich for you to ask anything of us, when you have not even left your own identity! LOL!

I feel pretty
Oh so pretty
I feel pretty and witty and gay!

P.S. Next time please concentrate more on the show and less on me, because this forum is not really about me!

The judges had chosen kids for Indian Idol 3....Not a single contestant have mature voice.....& the singers who have mature voice had been voted out by people & judges. For example judges chosen AISHA SAYED,BHAVIN,PADMANAV,SHANTANU,AMIT for wild card entry. Than why did they chosen Ankita &Suhit...Knowing the fact that Aisha & Bhavin werent getting good voting response & in the presence of Ankita &Suhit, votes must be divided. And Aisha & Bhavin who were already the victims of lack of votes might get voted out again...At that crucial time all the judges were trying to make sure that their favourite must get one more chance ..whether it cause some troubles for the deserving candidate..& the result was clear AISHA & BHAVIN were voted out again. Now why people & judges are trying to be harsh with the remaining contestants....Dont they know that Richa,Puja,Ankita,Emon have childish behaviour & voices as well. They knew it right from the begining....Go & watch Star Voice Of India & listen all the participants....U'll feel a big difference between Indian Idol 3 contestants & Star Voice Of India participants......I think if the same judges will be going to continue for Indian Idol 4 too..Than this programme will loose its viewership badly..

I think that Smitha, Charu, Parleen and Puja are going to be voted out in the following weeks, let's see... i didn't like Chang's singing this week like his earlier songs ,but he has a huge fan following and that's gonna help him for four or five more galas. When I'm seeing Annu Malik advising Emon about "over confidence" I'm convinced that Mr. Annu Malik is not that open minded and he is an insecure person also. Anyway he and Alisha are taking up so much time for their fighting and it's really irritating. Someone wrote that Prashant's all songs are almost alike and I agree with that . What appears to me is that with proper guidance Amit,Abhishek, Deepali and Emon can really do it, maybe Chang too because he's my favourite with romantic songs.

Sprout very flimi response, 'its not about me its about the show' then the entire post is about you But teasing only, you guys have created a great site and the reading is fun - guess catty comments are what makes it so masala filled and juicy! Have to admit I thought Deepa was the girl and Sprout was the boy on here....glad you appreciate the gay dude compliment, it was not meant as either just behavior observation haha. And yes true the bottom two were pretty obvious this week.

THOUGH I was never a Jolly FAN her song yesterday was beautiful and she sang it like a pro -- anyone know which movie it is from?

And yep Ankita and Parleen are going to rock for a while - it is a singing show, but it is their job to get the Audience so excited that they are willing to go to the trouble of finding the cell phone first, then texting the person's name - and when you perform great and get people excited and in that 'zone' they will get up and do it for you. Else they will just go to bed saying oh that baccha sang so nice, what a sweet child....and that sweet child is catching a one way ticket home next week :)

Keep Posting Meeeoooooow!

I am still Unable to understand why people Go gaga over Parleen Guys, Bhavin was a better singer and was not bad lookin either . I was Shocked to see Anu Praising Parleen on such a Dead Performance .Same is the case with Smita She is Always Getting Advantage of her plain Jane Looks. If You look at her performances they are getting worse day by day.May be she is planning to ride home on sympathy wave.Tough Luck Smita Public is gettin Smarter !!! .Improve !! Improve get better ,otherwise Jassi Jaisi Pehle bih aa chuki hai PPL dont care anymore.I have to admit this time Public is voting very sensibly and this time competition is far tougher(Again a wake up call for smita).Abhsikhek ka drama must have made him loose lot of supporters .It was very weird !!.I guess the guy who is improving day by day Is Amit Paul(He was never my favourite though but after his entry back he is Rocking!) .Prashant is Unpredictable and Like sprout pointed out he goes nasal still, his style touches public.Emon is Part Two of of Rahul vaidya and Vineet(Himesh's Prodigy from Saregamapa )Still he is better than both of them in verstality but My god Sonu is still there !!! we want a original voice right).Meying Chang is dark Horse he has everything Good voice, cool composure and a sensible head. But, He always perform like Indian Cricket team totally unpredictable.Deepali has really good voice and i am still unable to figure out why Anu malik is so pissed out on her performance.Ankita the rockstar won't last coz her singing is flat but she has the best attitude out of all contestants. My analysis (Please dont Flame the board calling me all the ****** but these ppl Will surely be knocked out )

Ratings and who will be knocked Next!!!!

1.Week Puja Or Smita

2Week. Smita or Parleen(unless All gals go hunky dory over this greek god no offence !!!)

3Week.Parleen or charu

4Week.Charu or Abhishek

5Week.Abhisek or Ankita

6Week.Ankita or Prashant.

So final contestants who will stand the test of time are chang, deepali, amit and Emon and may be Prashant

Anyways Sprouts along with deepa are GR8 in not only Coverage of show but also in voting prediction too!!!!!!

Bhavin was eliminated because he looked old. The producers want a Tweenie so audience between 13-25 who votes (providing SMS revenue) and then goes out to buy CDs (music revenue) and also is impressionable to buy advertising products (ad revenue) stays with the show.

This is why they support Parleen, he is good looking in a labrador dog friendly but harmless way that younger girls enjoy fantasizing about. Parleen has good instincts (hugging Richa, hugging Jolly) - he is young and at 19 probably is doing it for the right reasons, but it is smart and plays to his fan base....he is the best dresser amongst the boys and looks wholesom. He is also understated that the educated classes like, there are no servile matha takes and fake humility or the drama baaji of I have two sets of parents, or people don't like me because I am ugly....no drama in the long run means less audience fickless and boredom.

Abishek, Amit and Emon are the better singers...Emon's weakness is that he looks week and comes across as a kid...Abhishek is too rickshaw wallah -sorry don't mean to be superficial - I personally think he is an excellent singer (think DON), and has a buff look that he could clean up nicely for - get rid of the cap, get rid of the cheap hair cut and dress in lighter clothes. He is also a sweetie the way he was crying for Jolly. Amit is right now the best Male Singer....but there is something weird about him, cannot exactly put my finger on it though. Its his facial expressions...I think he just needs to reduce dorkiness and work on his sexual appeal. He is not bad looking, but he seems to come across like a village bumpkin lol. Just stating it from an audience stand point not trying to be an *here.

On the girls agree with other posters, Puja does come across as bratty...and her teeth need work. She needs to distance herself from Emon as well on the show and develop and independent image. Ankita has done a masterful job here. She is not a great singer, but she is fun and has great attitude-she is someone you feel you can hang out with. Charu has done a good job on her image....she needs to work on emotion though...so the audience connects with her, too ice queen right now. She is a great singer, but the *Anu has hurt her confidence....I think Charu will come back strong again and is probably the biggest long term threat to Ankita.

Deepali is a great singer, she is adorable but she is another Vatika--Vatiak got pushed out because of being forgettable--Deepali needs to get a distinct image.....

Chang is not that good actually, and at some point his chowmein novelty factor will get old for desi audiences -- even though ironically he is as desi in his mind as the rest of us. Also I just dont think he is the best male singer, though seems like a nice regular guy.

Now if someone will only vote out Anu -- whats up with him -- at least he should be courteous enough to let Udit finish his comments :)

Sushmita. totally agree with you that Ankita was off-key all the time: as certified to me by an acute ear: she did not hot a single true note as laid down by the instruments accompanying her.
