So You Think You Can Dance - Down to the Finals

*I came an ace of not reviewing tonight's show since I have been so speratic, but I thought, what the heck!*

Tonight is the night that we find out just who will be competing for that $250,000 and title of America's favorite dancer. We have 6 lovely contestants left and by the end of the hour we will be down to 4.

The show opens with a Wade Robeson routine that looked like a bunch of swamp monsters dancing around. I liked it, but I like weird things so this was up my alley!

Our judges this week are Nigel, Mary and Debbie Allen. Debbie informs us that Cedric, a contestant that she loved, but America bounced out of the competition some time ago, is slated to start at her dance school this fall, and is getting a free ride by some benefactors.

We are then treated to an African Dance by a fellow from Debbie's dance school named Titus.

Next each contestant gets to dance one last solo dance. The girls go first. All were quite good, but Sabra and Lacey are in a league all to themselves. Lauren just seems to be looking in the window.

The guys were all good. This is a tough one to call, because I feel they are all equally talented. The guy that gets booted is going to come down to personality.

For another time filler, we find out that the choreographers have worked out a deal with the Mayor of LA to go to the innercity afterschool programs and teach the dance teachers a few things. I personally think this a really cool thing that SYTYCD is doing. It gives the "regular Joe" the chance to work with some choreaographers that they would never get the chance to work with. When the contestants come in they look like deer in headlights.

Lil C and the Neph Squad treat us to some Krumping. I'm not sure I can see the fine line between Krumping and Hip Hop; other than the fact Hip Hop seems a little smoother. What do I know?

FINALLY we are down to elimenation time. Each girl is reviewed for all three dances that were danced last week. Sabra danced with Neil. They danced the Paso Doble and a Jazz routine. Lauren and Danny danced a Disco and a Contemporary. Lacey and Pasha danced a Hip Hop and a Smooth Waltz. All the dancers danced solos in their own style of dance. Now unfortunatly I did not see the show last Wed., but from the snipits that they show, it looked like everyone did well. Lacey is told she has made it to the finals.Next the guys are reviewed and Danny is safe.

WTF? Due to the fact that this show was taped last Thursday, but aired today, Cat asks the studio audience to leave. This is to keep the integrity of the show and no leaks possible as to who the top 4 dancers are. Okay if I were in the audience I would be PO-ed, but as a viewer, I think that is pretty cool. What a twist!

After a commercial break, we find out that Lauren is going home. IT IS ABOUT TIME!!!!! She has been on borrowed time for several weeks. Nigel states she is one of his favorites and Mary and Debbie go on about how she will be famous. ICK! So glad she is gone. This means Sabra is in the final.

Neil will join Lacey, Danny, and Sabra for Pasha is going home tonight. Nigel states that Pasha is a wonderful partner and a true gentleman. Mary of course is blubbering because he is a ballroom dancer. Debbie rambles on about taking acting lessons or something and we get to see Pasha's montage.

Random thoughts:
How weird was it that when there was clapping after the studio audience left it was only about a dozen folks clapping...because that was all that was there!

Am I the only person who was a little shocked that Pasha didn't make the final 4? I thought it would be a toss up between Neil and Danny as to who would go home.

Wouldn't it be easier to watch this show if it wasn't on the summer? I love this show, but it is so hard to catch in the summer time. I gotta get TiVo!
