Finally, Indians chose their Third Indian Idol and it might not come as a huge surprise to most viewers as the outcome was debatably decided ages ago.
For the people who have no clue about what I am talking about, here’s the name of the Third Indian Idol…

So Darjeeling wins!
Many might believe that his friendly nemesis Amit Paul should have been the winner of Indian Idol 3, and to an extent their belief might be valid, but Amit’s future is bright despite the loss and also Amit’s fans should take heart in knowing that the winner this year is any day better than the Idol last year.
A detailed analysis of the most ghastly planned Finale would be posted soon, so watch this space!
i feel amit is way better than prashant. he has a better voice and a better personality. amit has an excellent voice. prashant is also good but i feel amit is better.
Indians don't deserve to vote!!!!!!!!! Always making a wrong decision. Indian Idol is not about the state/religion/cast etc it's about talent! Any given day Amit and Emon are far better singers than Prashant there is no doubt. Indians should watch American Idol and learn how to watch and vote.
Shame on them! I wish Amit all the best, he will have a bright future!
I`ve always had SM tendencies. As an example: My favorite text editor is Vi.
While a SONY idol-of-idols show would most certainly have nothing whatsoever to do with music, the sound of thousands of blind-idol worshipping hearts breaking would definitely be music to the sadist in me!
I'm firm on my top 3. 4 to 7 are of nearly the same level. Again 8 to 13 can be placed in any order. This is just how I managed to order. But I feel the finds of II3, if any, are - Amit, Deepali and Emon.
I'm happy that Deepali (My crush) and Emon are being approached by music directors like Anu Malik and A R Rehman ( if the reports are true).
Amit is an awesome singer, and hopefully he'll live up to his potential. Prashant has a melodic voice. Though not in Amit's class, Prashant's not deserving of many of the comments here.
Prashant is way better than Sandeep. I thought Chang and Parleen had more awful performances than Prashant, but somehow fans of those two keep bashing Prashant.
IMO the top contestants this year, in order, were:
Amit, Deepali, Emon, Prashant, Puja
One of them won, and the format anyway does not lend itself to the best necessarily getting the top prize..so I don't see what the big outcry is about. Sandeep didn't belong anywhere in the top 5 last year.
If Amit or Prashant comes to the US, I'd go and watch either of their concerts. Last, but not least, Prashant impressed me tremendously with the way, even in his moment, he kept Amit in his thoughts, and made sure that he was part of the whole celebration too.
