Finally, Indians chose their Third Indian Idol and it might not come as a huge surprise to most viewers as the outcome was debatably decided ages ago.
For the people who have no clue about what I am talking about, here’s the name of the Third Indian Idol…

Many might believe that his friendly nemesis Amit Paul should have been the winner of Indian Idol 3, and to an extent their belief might be valid, but Amit’s future is bright despite the loss and also Amit’s fans should take heart in knowing that the winner this year is any day better than the Idol last year.
A detailed analysis of the most ghastly planned Finale would be posted soon, so watch this space!

Please don't claim that Prashant received biased votes without evidence. You can't have 4 crore votes only from Darjeeling. He was voted by Indians east, west, north, south and abroad.

People should learn lesson from him. The x factor is simplicity and attitude.I am happy he won.
Also Amit Paul is excellent singer and he will definitely become top Indian Playback singer.
I am glad I didn’t waste a penny on voting (not that I could have) and now I can spend that money on the albums. :)
I do agree Prashant is not as bad as the last winner. In fact, once all the good contestants got eliminated I was able to really pay attention to Prashant’s singing and his nice personality. But, it could’ve been more exciting if it had been Emon Vs Amit.
Ironically, Richa was the first one to get eliminated in the gala rounds and Prashant went on to win the title.

First of all, chill!
Secondly, it is no secret about how politicized this year’s idol has been, with ministers of both states stepping in with monetary aid.
Thirdly, bias is apparent in both cases, and the bias is well discussed in the media, so the claim is not exactly without evidence.
Fourth point, we are not aware of the exact figures of votes garnered by either contestant, hence to state that Prashant received xyz amount of votes is hardly valid.
Look, I am glad for Prashant, and so should his supporters, enjoy his victory, he deserves every bit of it! However, at the same time, if Amit’s supporters are crying foul, please don’t take it personally, because if Amit would have won, Prashant’s supporters would have made Amit’s win a bigger issue.
Thank God, at least now one cannot claim that Indian Voters are racists!

I agree Prashant (the untrained singer) is better than Sandeep Acharya......but Amit was definitely the deserving candidate.....sadly, it boils down to sheer sms & its not really the talent eventually....its a shame.....I hope the best for Amit & a very very bright career.....I wish to hear more songs in his voice in near future.....at the end of the day, its all for good.....cheers!!

I quoted 4 crores because Sony officially stated total of more than 7 crores votes were casted. So I make an amendment; that should be at least 3.6 crores. Doesnot make much difference to the concept, does it?
