 Starbucks will give away 50 million free songs curlio

Misc. Starbucks is planning to give away 50 million free digital downloads from iTunes. The move is planned to promote a new service from iTunes - wireless downloads. The giveaway starts October 2nd and will run for a month. The start date coincides with the debut of the iTunes digital release cards being sold by the coffee company.
Also on Oct. 2, Starbucks will start selling iTunes digital release cards that allow a full album of music and bonus material to be downloaded online. KT Tunstall's "Drastic Fantastic" and the soundtrack to the film "Into the Wild" with new music from Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will be the first two featured albums, retailing for $14.99 and $11.99, respectively.
There are also other services that the two companies are planning to offer as well, all of which will debut in select markets first.
