Many American Idol fans were watching the auditions eagerly awaiting Baylie Brown, the fashion queen of Krum, Texas who would redeem herself after being voted out in the Hollywood rounds last season. The sadness was palpable when she didn't appear. Why didn't Baylie audition again? Particularly after Simon Cowell called her a record label's dream and highly marketable during her audition.
While watching my local fox affiliate, I discovered the answer. According to them, Baylie has been signed by Universal. After much searching of the internet, I was unable to find any information on her signing anywhere - but Fox 8 Cleveland has yet to be wrong on these things (weather, sure, news they tend to get right). So I decided to share this joyous news with the mass of fans who were eagerly awaiting news on Baylie.
Should I actually find some online confirmation, I'll be sure to pass that along aswell.

Mmmm... would that be why I can't find it online anywhere then? After all they're evil enough that Google doesn't consider them news, and a brief search through the blogs section didn't turn them up their either. Further proof of their evil hearts is what I call that!

She was stuck with the best friends (antonella and that other girl), but after much in-fighting their performance wasn't that great. Baylie forgot her words and wasn't forgiven for it. Hey Beanstalker, I'm here and disappointed that Baylie is not here this year. I thought they really missed the boat last year by letting her slip out. Her looks and ways and singing were terrific. Well, at any rate she as Ben1974 says, has the best chance of a non-finalist of making it big. She might have opted for Nasville Star that is coming to NBC which with the current situation with the programing is very smart. She has some "seriously lovely" eyes. Willy the Flirt

Thanks Curlio! In hindsight, I bet AI wished they went with Ballie and not Skankonella! What a nightmare that was!

Yeah, but after the previous year's debacle during the Hollywood rounds with all contestants forgetting their lyrics, remember last year was the year that Simon laid down the law, "if you forget the lyrics, you're gone". She forgot an entire verse, and she was gone.
I'm a friend of Baylie. She is in Nashville today and tomorrow laying down her first three tracks. Jay Demarcus of Rascal Flatts is co-producing her album.

Baylie is signed with Universal South records. I know her personally...stumbled on this sight to see if she was getting any hipe at all. She is currently recording in nashville. You can see pics of her recording with a member from Rascal Flats if you look on her myspace site.

If universal did sign her I think they will be sorry they did so she has a im the Queen of the world attitude and I dont think thats what true country listeners want to here maybe if she wasnt a rich girl to begin with she would really get what country music is all about maybe she should try pop or something she has a good voice though just a its all about me attitude Ive seen her around Texas since she was about 10 if she couldnt make it on idol that ought to tell u something I would kick my daughters hinney if i ever heard her act like that

Let's put it this way...she certainly didn't earn any fans amongst the female members of this website when she was on Idol. The boys are a different story, then again, we know they aren't judging Idol contestants on their singing ability.
The resident "cougars" felt that she wasn't worth much more than fodder onwhich to sharpen our claws...
The girl was a phony, start to finish. AI set her up as a fashion icon living in a cow pasture. Krum is 10 minutes from Denton and 45 minutes from the Galleria, hardly an area devoid of fashion...
I am Baylie's mom and I am "laughing out loud" at whoever it is that thinks that she/we are rich and live in a "cow pasture". Whoever you are obviously does not know Baylie. There will always be people out in the world that base "what they THINK they know" on things that they "assume"
Her granny is an angle looking down on her keeping her VERY, if not TOO, grounded.

I was surprised she was not given another chance after she forgot the words, since Simon called her "a record label's dream and highly marketable." She could have gone far on AI.
