Well I didn't do good with my picks this year. From my "will win" category, I had 7 out of 21 right. My should's definitely failed, as they usually do. The people I think should win, never win and this year was no different, only 2 out of 21. As I said in my picks, this year was bad for videos. Good music, but videos sucked and did little that was new, good, or interesting.
Coldplay, Justin Timberlake, and Beyonce all came out with three wins each with Justin and Beyonce taking best male and female. 50 Cent and Missy Elliott walked off with two each, though 50 also "stole" Eminem's trophy for Best Video from a Film. Missy took her first award ever, and she took the top prize for Video of the Year. She thanked everyone but her maid and cook!
Enough chatter, here's the results:
Best Video of the Year Missy Elliott - "Work It"
Best Male Video Justin Timberlake - "Cry Me A River"
Best Female Video Beyonce Knowles - "Crazy In Love"
Best Group Video Coldplay - "The Scientist"
Best Rap Video 50 Cent - "In Da Club"
Best R&B Video Beyonce Knowles - "Crazy In Love"
Best Hip Hop Video Missy Elliott - "Work It"
Best Dance Video Justin Timberlake - "Rock Your Body"
Best Rock Video Linkin Park - "Somewhere I Belong"
Best Pop Video Justin Timberlake - "Cry Me A River"
Best New Artist in a Video 50 Cent - "In Da Club"
Best Video from a Film Eminem - "Lose Yourself"
MTV2 Award A.F.I - "Girls Not Grey"
Viewer's Choice Good Charlotte - "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"
Breakthrough Video Coldplay - "The Scientist"
Best Direction in a Video Coldplay - "The Scientist"
Best Choreography in a Video Beyonce Knowles - "Crazy In Love"
Best Special Effects in a Video QOTSA - "Go With the Flow"
Best Art Direction in a Video Radiohead - "There There"
Best Editing in a Video The White Stripes - "Seven Nation Army"
Best Cinematography in a Video Johnny Cash - "Hurt"
Sean Paul should have won Best Dance Video. Justin is good, but they should have given the new guy "big ups, big ups-" because dancing like that is hard, believe me. And no matter what classes you think you can take, you can't just learn that dance hall stuff...
You know what you should do? I think it would be neat if you compiled a final list of the people nominated, who you thought should win, who you thought WOULD win, and who did win. Heh, then we wouldn't have to check back all the time

Scary thing is... I could understand some of that! Lol *feels special* :P
I didn't watch the VMAs... however, there are def. some artist who shouldn't have won, and then some who should have. I agree, it was good that Britney didn't walk away with an award. I don't think Justin deserved *all* the awards he got... however, he may have. :P
wut the hell!!!!!!!! weres the award for christina!!!!!! shes the best one out there and shes been out there the longest!!!! beyonce shoulda not won all those awards!
mmm... maybe we should allow spanish then so you guys can practice
my Spanish teacher would love for that...me? I wouldn't like it one bit! :)
Go us! LOL! I'm actually looking forward to Spanish II this year
lol! Woo-hoo! Go us! Go us! Does your school have Spanish I as a requirement? Cuz mine has you go from 8th grade spanish to spanish II. Ifyou fail the regents thing for 8th grade spanish, then you have to take Spanish 1 and I was just wondering how we are taking the same spanish! lol! It might just be called the same thing, but yours is harder...lol, yeah thats probably it, so just ignore my random typing!
Yeah, Kelly deserved some awards (Clarkson, not Osbourne). I'm pissed that MTV posted the number of the viewers choice during the show and she had 40% and GC had 12%, but then suddenly, 15 minutes later they won, when their percents hadn't changed in the past hour. Oh well...
I don't think Beyonce should've won nearly as many...this past year I think Kelly Rowland came out with much better songs (maybe not videos, but the songs were better). I didn't think the video for 'Crazy in Love' was all THAT good...just seems to me that MTV catered to popularity rather than quality. But overall, I enjoyed all the performances and I'm glad Missy finally got an award! :)
