Fantasia Barrino and Diana Degarmo in American Idols Final

Today the final two would be made known. Who would fight for the title "American Idol"? Of course we wouldn't find that out until the end of the one hour show.
At the beginning of the show Ryan Seacrest asked the audience who they thought who would go home. Almost the entire audience screamed: Jasmine.
Ryan asked each of the contestants if they thought they have done enough to stay in the competition. Jasmine Trias said: "I gave my best every week." Fantasia Barrino said: "I think so, Everyone worked hard every week, and I tried to be different each week". Diana Degarmo said that she gave her 100% each week.
Tamyra Gray performed a song called "You are a star". It sounded good, but it didn't move me. During the performance they showed videos from the auditions, and some video of the 12 top contestants at the Hollywood house they lived in during the competition.
The Australian winner of Australian Idol, Guy Sebastian was on the show to perform. Looking at his hair he looked kinda like Jack Osbourne (decide yourself if that is a good or a bad thing). His record is the best selling in Australian history, his record went platinum five times. His advice for the contestants was to take everything in. He then performed his song called 'Angels brought me here'. His performance was really good for an Australian, as you couldn't hear any Australian accent during his singing.
To fill the hour this week they played a video from each contestant featuring their trip home last weekend. They first showed Jasmine going back to Hawaii. There it was announced that May 13th would then be known as Jasmine Trias day. She went back to her high school called 'MaryKnoll High school' she said she got incredible amazing support. Then they did a recap of the songs and the comments.
After the break Ryan first had a talk with Tamyra, where it was announced that she co-wrote a single for this years winner called 'I Believe'. Both finalists will sing it next week, and the winner will have that song released as a single. This is to clearly make a quick buck out of the AI-rage, but they of course did not mention that part. Tamyra's new album will be released next Tuesday and she sang a song from that album called 'Raindrops will fall' which was a good performance.
After that it was time for the clip from Fantasia's trip home. She went to Highpoint, N.C. where she visited radio, tv, and her old elementary school. She stopped by a furniture store where her grandfather worked. She was given a lounge chair. She also received the key to the city from the mayor. She went to her church for a pot luck dinner. Ryan asked if she ate chitlins (whatever that is) and she replied that she didn't have that, but she did have pig's feet. She got a recap of her songs and the comments aswell. And choked up with emotion. ( good emotions! )
Diana looked very nervous for her clips. She went to a TV station, where she also did the weather forecast, which was quite funny to see. You saw her being at home, with her two dogs. She was picked up by a limo to go to the mayor. For that trip she even had a police escort with their lights on during which she remarked "I got blue lights!". She had a CD signing at a store ( which to us looked like a Walmart. ). Then she went to her high school "Shiloh" and then she got her recap of the songs and the comments.
It finally was time to torture us with the weekly clip. This time it was the song "Somebody's watching me". And all of the contestants were followed by paparazzi. First when they woke up, up to where she was driving a car and finally when they went to bed. It was amazingly amusing. Either I lost my feeling for humor by all the bad clips from the weeks before or they actually made a good clip this week.
The judges were asked for advice for the person that would leave this week. Paula said that the person should "follow their heart and soul". Simon congratulated all the contestants as he thought the show from last night was one of hte best shows ever.
It was finally time to announce who would leave the show this week: It was Jasmine Trias.
Jasmine was smiling when she heard she was leaving, however her family looked disappointed.
Jasmine had to flip a coin to decide who got to choose who would go first next week, Fantasia choose Heads, and Diana choose Tails. The coin landed on Heads and Fantasia choose that she would like to go second next week.
Jasmine was asked to perform her song as a goodbye. Normally it has always been the song that they sang the day before, however Ryan asked Jasmine to sing 'Inseperable'. It was a good performance, her voice sounded great with this song. Most people will also agree that the best performance from her in the whole competition from her was that song. That is probably why they asked Jasmine to sing that song.

Even though Fantasia is extremely good, Diana will probably win on account that she's still in high school. Probably everybody at her high school votes like 5 times. But you really never know. They both have great voices as well as images and personality... well maybe not a great personality for Fantasia... but besides that they both have a great shot of winning!
Since Jasmine Trias is already eliminated, I encourage all the fans of Jasmine to vote for Diana Digarmo. She has a powerful voice and can compete with the voice of Fantasia. Hope Diana or her friends and relatives are reading the messages. In order for Diana to beat Fantasia, I suggest that Diana should internalize the message of all the songs she is going to sing. Put emotion into the song. Do not just sing but sing from the heart. Do not scream while you are hitting the high note. Relax and be natural. For example, if Diana is singing a love song, she should show in her facial expression that Diana is in love. Diana's accent or the way she pronounces the lyrics is more clear and better than Fantasia. Diana, I will vote for you and good luck. Hope you grab the title because you deserve it.
Also, regarding Fantasia, no doubt she shouldn't be allowed to be a contestant on AI. She ought to be in jail for having a baby as a teenager. All teenagers who violate the sanctity of the hyman should be in jail. The world would be a lot better that way. (that's sarcasm, by the way, just so nobody gets confused).

Although I HIGHLY doubt that only Hawaii voted for Jasmine (she is a beuatiful girl!)... I have to wonder if AI will change who they pick next year for the final top 12: Will they go to a tight knit state like Hawaii? Will they allow 16 year olds through in so many numbers again? I guess on the one hand it certainly made the competition "heat up" with controversy!

Dianna has a lovely voice and both these contestants are worthy of being AI. I look forward to next week to see how things go.

It is unbelievable that people can sit back and judge someone (Fantasia) that they have never met. Yet throw stones and belittle someone based soley on the fact that she got pregnant, carried the baby, gave birth to the baby, and is raising her in what appears to be an enviornment of love and acceptance.
How can people be so judgemental. For herself, Fantasia made the right choice to have her baby. I'd like to know what would be said if it was a male contestant who had previously fathered a child. It is obsurd to open the closests of a persons past and label them or sterotype them based on past issues. If that were the case where would any of us be?
Some talk as though her quote on quote "sin" is far worse than what any one else has ever done. It is amazing how bias and self-righteous some can be, and even I can be at times. Can't we get past that issue and the other issue's that really don't have a whole lot to do with talent? It just seems like these issues are being belabored.
All of you complaining about Jasmine should just chill. If I was from a small Island and one of my own was in a big competition I would do my best to get her to win. So Jasmine fans - I ain't mad at cha. She is good but not good enuff.
As to the final, much as I hate to say it Diana is going to win JUST CAUSE SHE IS WHITE! We all seem to be voting for our own and as you know whites outnumber blacks 7 to 1 in the US of A.
To the ingnorant ones. This board is about your comments regarding the AI. The comments made by a few are unreal and uncalled for. If you cannot stand the heat you need to get h*** out of the kitchen. Fantasia and Diana are very good singers however, everyones knows that Fantasia has more versatility which makes her more marketable. On the other hand Diana is very sweet and wholesome. Just becasue one makes unwise decision in life doesn't mean they cannont re-adjust and focus on the good things. This is an example of Fantansia she has stumble to only get up and start running in the right direction. Personally speaking this contest would have been awesome if the the final two divas would have been Latoya and fantasia or Latoya and Jennifer or Jenifer and Fantasia they truly had the talent. Jasmine had only one good song and we all know that was inseperable that's why she song the song last night because the others were so horrible. Jaz was very pretty, pure and innocent and that what help her along oh and the crying help for the simpathy vote resulting in casting out Latoya. So more power to Diana or Fantansia the next AI

everybody makes mistakes, except you i take it, though i wouldn't call a child a mistake. the fact that she is a young, single mother who is trying to better herself and her carrear for the sake of herself and her child does not make her a bad role model, by any means. so in your code of morality, what age isn't "too young" to have a child? just so we can all be aware.

My complaint is she wasn't married. In America these days Marriage has no value. Teenage girls need a role model who values marriage and virginity.

Its sad that week after week the bashing continues. Can't you all just say something nice about someone. You rag on Jasmine cause she stayed in so long, well she deserved to be there. Hawaii couldn't possibly keep her there themselves, so your fellow Americans voted her in. She has a lovely voice, bad choice of songs didn't help her cause, but she held up well. Diana didn't start of the greatest, found the right songs to sing and now she is up there. NO one had a perfect run. Some just brought it together better near the end. Latoya was let go because the American public found a flaw in her, whatever that was. She'll do fine. And so will Jasmine despite all your idiotic criticism. She's an awesome girl with a sweet voice that couldn't compete with the Loud, stronger voices of Fantasia and Diana. Who wins now, I don't care. They are both good. But I won't bad mouth any of the contestants cause they had to be good to have made it to the final twelve. Some of them could only sing one type of music and be really good at it, like John Stevens with Frank Sinatra type songs, Amy was a terrific country singer and Jasmine more of a ballad singer. If you really listen you will also hear the stronger types of music that each of the other contestants had. The stronger, louder singers could cover up flaws better than the softer singers. So be careful about your insults, they may just come back some day and slap you in the face.
sweetie, you are the one that made the analogy between fantasia having a child and other contests being arrested. as far as it being a "fact" that diana has a more powerful voice, again that is your opinion. i'm entitled to my opinion that she shouts and many other people share my opinion.

this isn't the 19'th century where women have to be barefoot, married and pregnant to be considered wholesome. in case you've been asleep for the past 100 years, times have changed. there are many single moms out there who are strong responsible women. i doubt many of the female pop stars out there are virgins, especially at age 19. that doesn't mean that they're bad people or even bad role models. please spare us all your conservative nonsense.
