C-Murder, who was already found guilty of murder, and later was granted a new trial, is up on new charges. He'll be facing charges of attempted second-degree murder in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller, is accused of shooting at a Baton Rouge club owner and patron on Aug. 14, 2001. He faces a 50-year prison sentence if convicted of the second-degree murder charges.
The prosecutors wouldn't comment on why it took them three years to bring the charges to a grand jury.
C-Murder's lawyer thinks that this is only going forward because the judge in C-Murder's other case granted him a new trial.
Apparently what happened was that C-Murder was told by a security guard that he needed to be searched before he could go in the club. C-Murder refused and asked for the owner. The owner told him the same. C-Murder then grabbed a gun from his pants and tried to shoot the owner in the back. Luckily for the club owner, the gun didn't work.
"Thas whack, yo! My dogg C-Murder ain't guilty of nuthin but keepin' it real. Y'all need ta quit hatin' on C and bust him up outta there. So what if he killed foolz, they wuz whack anyway and gotsta go, ya know what I'm sayin'?"
