	I missed the show, but saw Mary's clip on aol and, at least out of context, her singing was not so awful. She obviously picked the wrong tune, but her voice was really not bad. If you were simply to hear the clip without seeing her goofy visual image, you would like it better. I mean, she actually sings much better than Will Hung. She's only 18 and will perhaps emerge as the next Ellen Degeneres, especially from what I've heard about her whole schtick with the voices and all.

	Mary Roach got her 15 minutes of fame...and a funny 15 minutes it was! Unfortunately, it wasn't GOOD fame and since she's not going to Hollywood, her next goal was cosmetology school. I, for one, would be VERY hesitant to let someone like Mary Roach (or any of the other numerous personas living in her head) anywhere near me with a pair of sharp scissors! Mary, use that cosmetology training to change your appearance...you were better off being an anonymous psycho!

	The AOL clip isn't so funny. But I caught the "last-ditch effort" clip at the end of the show last night--you know, where they give the rejected contestants one last chance to show "what they can really do." It was HYSTERICAL with a capital H...actually, with ALL capitals. Does anybody have access to Mary's performance there?

	That girl was one of the worst! I love those faces Simon makes. That girl needed to be told how awful she was... why in the world would someone embarass themself on national TV like that, and then go psycho? How awful! I hope she ends up in a psychiatric ward.

	Poor Mary - she said ALL her friends say she has an amazing singing voice. After hearing her "last ditch" offering at the end of the show, I now clearly see that ALL those friends are on drugs. No undrugged person could possibly mistake that for singing.

I too have been searching for a clip. Once I find a good one though I'll make sure to post the link for everyone. I even tried looking on the official American Idol website, and had no luck. Perhaps they'll post some of the awful audtion clips later in the season.

	Excuse me but John Stevens, is FAR from a disaster. In facts he's a very talented singer! John Stevens is currently signed with Maverick (a recording company) and is releasing a CD called RED in March. He also has a single, Come Fly With Me, out in stores now! John is the best singer to walk this earth!!

	The judges apparently learned from the John Stevens disaster of last year. Brian Bagley, a dance instructor/janitor/ballet student didn't make it into the competition, even though he had a good voice. He's a good dancer, but he was just too old-fashioned. I think they were just afraid of repeating the John Stevens affair I'm outraged at what they said about John Stevens....he's a very talented singer and is very good at his genre and I don't think that was a disaster at all.....seeing as of now he has a CD coming out in the spring with maverick records and already has a single out which is very good....you should look for it at warehouse, FYE, amazon.com andcan buy it from www.maverick.com/johnstevens/.........and I think they should've let him in because he could sing something different from R&B and hip hop like that 16year old girl that rapped.....IMO, she looked and sounded about 9 years of age.....I would've rather had Brian in than her....IMO

	I stand by my opinion... the whole thing was a disaster. Could John Stevens sing? Yes. Was he singing the right styles to be a Pop Idol (which is what the show is really about, being a pop star) - no. Firmly NO.

	If the show is just about "pop" idols, then why did the judges let him through knowing that he was more of a bigband singer? Amy Adams also made it and she's more of a country singer. And take the winner of season 2 for instance, he's more of a R&B singer and he won the show. So the show is not only for "pop" as it's proven many times. John was great singing other styles on the show and is doing even better now that he's allowed to sing his own style. And obviously lots of people disagree with you and know that John Stevens is a very talented singer.

	I find the whole American Idol phenomena very funny and think we should all lighten up from the antagonism we had last season. Honestly its not really a talent competition its more of a popularity contest AND entertainment. How else do you explain the staged breaking of the news to Constantines band members by Ryan Seacrest. Come on this small town band has cameras in the room for one of their rehersals and Ryan Seacrest shows up and none of them are even slightly surprised? This is my first season of watching it from the auditions and frankly based on what I've seen so far I'm suprised that some of the finalists of last year got through to the last twelve. No disrespect to Jo above but John Stevens as the best singer to ever walk this earth? He can sing well enough but are u trying to say he is better than his idol Frank Sinatra? We all need to lighten up. Will all have our preferences but we need to remember the producers will angle things to get ratings and produce 'Surprises'. Remember Tamyra Grey and Jennifer Hudson? Those results had nothing to do with votes. White America would have lost interest in AI if the last three were the divas Simon wanted in Fantasia, Jennifer and Latoya. It is no coincidence that the last couple of seasons the finals have been one black and one white contestant. Mark my words this season THE WINNER WILL NOT BE BLACK! So if u are watching it just to see another black idol crowned don't waste your time, wait till next season when the dust of two back to back Black idols settles. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it is all about race but the producers are thinking about a range of things and talent is probably not top of that list.

	In my opinion, yes, John Stevens is the best signer i've ever heard. And if he's not your favorite, i respect that, it's your opinion. But saying "The judges apparently learned from the John Stevens disaster of last year." i do not respect at all.

	White America would have lost interest in AI if the last three were the divas Simon wanted in Fantasia, Jennifer and Latoya. It is no coincidence that the last couple of seasons the finals have been one black and one white contestant. Mark my words this season THE WINNER WILL NOT BE BLACK! So if u are watching it just to see another black idol crowned don't waste your time, wait till next season when the dust of two back to back Black idols settles...... ok, in my opinion, what you just said was really racist, and uncalled for....and John Stevens is the best singer my ears have ever heard......I think he might be better than Frank Sinatra, yet I guess you wouldn't know if you've not heard his single yet.

I find it difficult to believe you are being purely objective if you are saying John Stevens is the best Singer you have ever heard. John Stevens himself was objective enough to say he was surprised to still be in the competition after Jennifer was kicked out. And yes I haven't heard his new single but on the other hand I heard him Sing Mandy and in the Country week last season and I think he still has some way to go to excel as much as Sinatra.
