Interview With The Rockers On Rock Star INXS Sprout2
 2005-09-12 12:43:13
Misc. Dear Mark Burnett,

I wish that you would not use The Apprentice formula on Rock Star INXS! Unfortunately, the sceptic in me does not exactly buy what was shown today. Although INXS and you have achieved exactly what you wanted to achieve and I congratulate you for that, but I am going to wait and watch, because when something is too good to be true, it usually isn’t! In any case, ever since I have heard that you are going to actively participate in Deanna Johnston’s career, I have decided that you can play God and I won’t complain!

Yours sincerely,

Moi!

(Yeah, so I am channelling Miss Piggy, you got a problem with that?)

Ok, let me just begin by saying that this week’s Reality Show was one of the most intense shows so far and thanks to the edit, what one saw more or less betrayed the outcome of this long audition! If people, who by the way still have voting rights believe what they are shown, they are taken for a ride and if INXS indeed have betrayed their true feelings, I don’t see any reason for two more weeks, finish everything this week itself!

On with the show in fairy tale mode!

Once upon a time in a mansion somewhere in Hollywood, four individuals were seated on a vast dining table, each in sombre mood and discussing the events that rocked their world. Most are mourning the departure of a friend, who was part of their life for thousand weeks ™! The friend who departed was Princess Jordis Unga, the youngest exotically beautiful talented vocalist! As a fan of Princess Unga, I had thought that her departure, which was imminent, would not affect me in any way, but I was wrong, it is painful to see anyone you love leave. However, on a brighter note, I was very much aware of a lucrative deal waiting for her and was wondering how the Uncrowned Kings of the show, who shall be referred as INXS would cushion her exit and I was not surprised at their speech, because whether Princess Unga was right for INXS or not, a star was born (no, not Ms Streisand) on that audition stage! And the King of Reality Television has a huge stake in this rising!

Prince MiG Ayesa toasts the departure of Princess Unga by aptly stating that this was the first day of her illustrious career! Sweet Princess Suzie McNeil, who personifies “Cry Me A River” observes that Princess Unga was always the one cautioned her not to shed tears and that mere memory is enough for her to do what she does better than most – she cries, she clarifies that she is not crying, because Ms. Unga had to leave! At some distance, Sweet Princess, hears Princess Unga singing,

“Don’t cry for me, O’ McNeilia,
The truth is I got a better deal,
Not INXS, not Navarro,
I got my Solo, I don’t feel hollow!”

Sweet Princess clarifies that she is crying because she feels honoured that she is the last female contestant standing!

However, the most devastation is felt by Prince Marty Casey as he had shared a close relationship with the departed Princess and before minds wonder on romantic lines – I think platonic creative relationships do exist! In any case, he admits that the departure was hard to take and it bummed him out!

On the other side, His Royal Hound-Dog (oh, come on – this was too easy) King J.D. Fortune sings a different tune stating that since he got the encore, plus he could sing in a group – and got a chance to sing another INXS tune in bottom three, he felt pretty good and also stated “INXS saw a lot of me!” Oh HRH, let me assure you, we saw a lot of you as well!

Thus ending the mundane segment watched week after week, with same reactions, only different departures!

Ok, so this is not exactly a fairy tale and I am no Hans Christian Henderson!

Anyway, back in normal mode!

Dave Navarro arrives after the dinner and observes how quiet things are! Dave, what did you expect to see, Rockers swinging from a chandelier? Anyway arrival of Dave means arrival of the theme in form of clinic and the clinic this week was One-On-One Interview with INXS!

Why did I mail Mr. Burnett? Because as a fan of The Apprentice – (Yes, I even started liking Donald Trump – but let’s focus here!) two weeks before the finale all the wannabe apprentices are interviewed – albeit by different individuals other than Trump. This was the same protocol, but the only difference was that INXS would interview the remaining four!

Dave states that it’s all about chemistry – the chemistry between each Rocker and the band INXS!

J.D. thinks its time to introduce the real J.D. Fortune to INXS! He says, “For the first time in my life, I am going to be honest!” Ok, help me out here, does this mean he was not honest so far? And how many times will the real J.D. stand up – I mean wasn’t he being honest when the song clinic happened! Wasn’t he honest when he said I would give my heart and all that jazz, last time when he was in bottom three? Seriously man, even if I don’t want to rag on you, you say something ridiculously stupid!

Suzie on the other hand is apprehensive and hopes that she can relax, because she freezes up when she gets nervous! Déjà vu – last week’s Jordis!

Anyway, before the interview, as a reward for getting the encore, J.D. gets a surprise! I won’t mock J.D. because for the first time, I was actually glad to see this side of him. As is apparent from previous shows, the Rocker is blissfully strumming or playing something, totally unaware, when he is hit with the surprise, the same applied for J.D.

He is outside the mansion strumming his guitar when a car pulls over in the driveway, a white Honda Ridgeline to be exact! Man this people can pimp products! Anyway, J.D.’s mom and younger sister arrive.

Usually I am severely critical of J.D. but I must confess this was the first time I realized that he was not working the camera. I am very much aware of his troubled past and I know that the only person who has always been there for him was his mom. Coming from a broken home and growing up too fast is not fair. J.D. had to take care of his younger sister as his father had left the family, when she was merely a baby.

Honestly, you can’t fake those tears, and I am honestly glad that this was included in the show, because even if J.D. is a ringer, no one has the right to fiddle with his future with bad edit!

I was really happy that the producers are taking drastic measures to do the damage control, because this is one show where win or lose – you win anyway!

Oh, by the by, this does not mean I am on J.D. love train, I would continue ragging if I feel what I feel, I never claim to be right! I have opinions, you don’t have to agree! However, even if I dislike someone personally, does not mean I want them ruined forever, that’s lower than low!

Anyway, J.D. through his tears jokingly asks his mom for $50 and frankly even I laughed! It was cute! I just wish that J.D. would have kept his mouth shut! This would have been a moment where I would have shed a tear or two with him, but despite that I was happy that he was reunited with his mom!

Now, I have understood a pattern that is used by this show – usually what happens in the second segment becomes the theme of the show and I was so not surprised at the things that happened next!

One-On-One Interviews!

First up! J.D. Fortune!

INXS admitted as seeing J.D. as someone who was dangerous and edgy, and they wanted to make sure when the pressure is on he won’t flip out!

So the first question Tim Farris poses is how much cockiness was real and how much was for the show. J.D. articulately replies that earlier, he would go to any lengths to get attention, but as the show progressed, his plan changed and his sole intention now was to let INXS know how much he wanted to be a part of the band!

J.D. also assured INXS that he can keep his cool in interviews and would never do anything to embarrass them.

Ok, I am sorry, I have to interject here. Every J.D. fan has shouted on top their lungs how badly J.D. wants this gig. And J.D. minus the Recording Clinic blunder has always kissed INXS’ asses!

Yes, he could keep his cool in the interview, when MiG blurted J.D. was difficult to live with! But J.D. was set up and the reporter was asked to deliberately inform him many Rockers felt that way! J.D. stated he was misunderstood – his signature line till his transformation. I don’t know if anyone remembers this line from the Collector – not that I saw the series, but a friend told me about it when we were talking about this line, the devil as a young girl states, “I am not evil, I am just misunderstood!” Anyway, didn’t J.D. pout and bitch about the revelation in the interview to Dave and INXS later on?

See, the fact is any good player should know how to play the game without contradicting himself!

Next J.D. was asked about his family. See what I mean by brilliant edit? J.D. pulled out a crumpled picture of him at age 5 with his younger sister. I don’t think this was a fake deal, because he was one of contestants who chose family over a gig! So after seeing him with his mom and sister, I am sure he carries this with him all the time!

This move impresses Kirk Pengilly – he observes how much family means to J.D. and how badly he wants to be a part of INXS family! Now, if I had not followed the show closely, I would have predicted right now that J.D. bagged the lead! The interview was rather pleasant and J.D. answered each question knowing fully well what INXS wanted to hear!

As J.D. leaves the room he is handed an envelope. J.D. tells his fellow Rockers that he has no regrets with his performance in the interview! He opens the envelope given by Tim to discover he has been asked to sing two songs – one being his original, “Pretty Vegas” but here’s a surprise, it states, it is co-written by Andrew Farris! And Pink Floyd’s hit, “Money”!

Next up MiG Ayesa

I stand by what I have been saying since last two weeks, INXS want MiG to be in bottom three, anyway, anyhow! Tim observes that right from the start MiG seemed like the nicest of the Rockers! Seemed like? What am I missing here? Anyway, INXS want to know if he can show some edge. Ok, I am finally going to ask this, because I don’t get it, do all the Rockers have to add SOB to their CV?

So since he is a nice guy, he obviously can’t be a Rocker, so kick him where it hurts the most! Tim asks MiG about his experience barring his lead in Queen’s musical, “We Will Rock You”! MiG confesses that he was part of numerous musicals including “Rent”, “West Side Story”, “Grease”, etc. ok, don’t kill me, but I must ask this, “How in the world is MiG straight?” Yeah I know it was cheap, but hey, if I can rag on J.D. I can surely rag on MiG! :P

However, MiG answers my question by informing that besides musicals, he has been a part of numerous Rock bands namely, Randy Badass and the Slick Master Five! (He was Randy Badass! I cackled like hyena for next few minutes, it is just too funny to even comprehend on any level! Hey MiG, “And the band flopped because?”) The Honkies and MiGnition! (Seriously, no comments, only laughter!)

So, Tim is surprised that MiG’s theatre connection ran so deep! Hello, weren’t these people interviewed and auditioned before? And feels like it would take longer to dilute his theatrical influences! And I am thinking, "Great! Give enough fodder to MiG fans; you are not seeing him in bottom three ever!"

MiG states that he is not selfish – true! He is very giving – true! And would be honoured if he was part of INXS – I truly believe him! Tim states that it might not be in MiG’s capacity to be more than the nice guy he is! Seriously, what a load of crap!

Anyway, he is given another chance to prove that he is edgy by covering Rolling Stones’ Classic, “Paint It Black” I could see Curlio rolling her eyes, because I know how much she loves the stones! And my favourite Seal ballad, “Kiss From The Rose” How exactly is this ballad edgy? They want him to rearrange it? That would be blasphemy! I won’t vote if he tampers with my favourite song!

Now, if I would have not watched Burnett Production, I would be literally tearing my hair out! In The Apprentice Season 3, when Kendra finished her last task with the help of three loose cannons, who were anything but that, she cried! Trump told her that it was ok to cry in the second last episode and the finale, he contradicted himself and said, “I hate people who cry!” It was painfully obvious that she was the next apprentice, but this is the drama of Reality Television.

Now, if people are wondering why this drama, many boards and conspiracy theorists have speculated that MiG has already got the gig! It is a totally different story that MiG is saved by Australian, Asian voters as well as voters from US and Canada each week, but one can obviously cry foul-play, so create an Anti-MiG atmosphere to shut people up!

Unfortunately, people are going to say what they want to say, because since the scales of power ranking have shifted, now conspiracy theorist are stating that MiG was hired without a clause of getting the gig! So irrespective of what the result is the theorists would have a field day!

Enter Marty Casey

Marty considers this session as an interaction than an interview! An opportunity in which he can reveal his plans of what he can do with the new INXS! As soon as I heard this, I was afraid for Marty!

Marty immediately gets to the point and shares his vision of INXS in present era and how they can retool themselves to be more contemporary! I appreciate his honesty, but I am more convinced that he is better suited for his own band, because at least from the show so far, I realized that INXS don’t really want anyone changing anything about them. Remember Jordis’ experimentation in recording clinic?

Marty sounds so business-like; I am thinking he should have his own record company! Marty states that album is dead and it’s a singles market! Marty honey, you are killing yourself!

I firmly believe that one should know the audience, I mean what Marty states is a valid truth, but INXS don’t want to hear that truth! Andrew commends Marty’s confidence and validates that Marty has gone from nervous performer to someone who can authoritatively give suggestion to a super-star platinum-selling band!

In other words – know your place! If anyone heard differently, please let me know! Why was I not surprised to hear a however? However, Andrew wonders to what extent does Marty like to take control?

Marty is jolted back to reality and diplomatically states that he prefers a gentle control (God knows what that means!) and he understands INXS as a group!

Colour me ignorant – I could not make any sense of these words! I understood what he was trying to say, but I really doubt him getting the gig after this!

I think he would do great on his own, so I am not exactly bothered! See I would have been concerned if Burnett had not had his own label, but Burnett will not let these talents pass by!

He is asked to sing Radiohead’s “Creep” and his original “Trees”. Oh I forgot, they joke about him screaming! Run Marty, run while you can!

And now presenting Sweet Suzie McNeil

Suzie repeats that she is nervous and feels like going in a battlefield! Her nerves betray when INXS ask how she would handle the crush of the media and fan attention; she actually tries to be coherent, but quickly loses the track of her thought and freezes!

This might answer why I thought Suzie can’t handle too many responsibilities! It is one thing to be a great singer and totally another deal when you become a singing star!

Well, they never do disclose what Suzie would sing, so here’s the deal, she is going to sing “What’s Up (What’s going On)” by 4 Non Blondes (love this song to death!) and Stone Temple Pilots’ “Interstate Love Song”.

After the interview the members brainstorm and discuss what they have learnt so far!

Kirk observes this was an eye-opener and they could see the Real face of all the Rockers and also states that each of them are as different as North, South, East and West!

Garry Beers agrees and adds that while Suzie is a great vocalist, J.D. is a great performer, Marty has come a long way and MiG has a unique style of his own.

They believe that it is a shame that MiG has not landed in bottom three yet and they have not yet had a chance to hear him sing an INXS song!

They think J.D. and Marty would handle press brilliantly as they are always ready with an answer!

Andrew is a little uneasy and states one can never be sure if J.D. is actually stating what’s in his heart or what he thinks others want to hear!

Jon Farris wonders out loud if there was a difference! Like hello, there is a difference – that’s what I think you’d like to hear, but here’s what in my heart, “Are you an idiot or you just act like one?” Get it?

Kirk states that J.D. has issues, but he works them out creatively and just like Michael Hutchence, he comes from a broken home! People use logic, it’s not that difficult!

Tim observes that MiG looks most like a Rock Star!

So from this episode J.D. and Marty shined in their interviews, they both got a chance to perform their original two weeks in a row, J.D. thrice! Does this work in their favour? We’ll see!

Did everyone perform well?

Curlio will tell you!

Tune in on Tuesday!

Oh by the way, lot of people found this funny so am adding, J.D. got a cake for the remaining contestants and said now people got a piece of *in the mansion and Suzie took a bite from the cake! Round cake – *– get it?

Actually... "Paint It Black" is the only Stones song I truly love. It's rather high on my all-time favorite list too. Can't wait to see it. And I'm REALLY happy that Marty is doing "Trees" again. Dusty and I have been singing that song all week! "You and Me.. Up in the Trees"

So only Marty and JD get to repeat their originals... what do we make of that? Does that place Marty and JD slightly ahead of the other two?

Cute! :)

I so feel like spoiling things, but I will resist! However, let me assure you that Dusty and you are going to love Marty's original performance this week!

If you remember the best original is going to be released as a single! J.D. used INXS tune to come up with an original song, but he was still in bottom three, even after getting an encore! Ideally, the encore should be released as a single!

Now, if they release J.D.'s song as a single, it is not a J.D. original, it is INXS tune, with J.D.'s lyrics! So I think Andrew added / edited lyrics - to get a joint credit!

If J.D. does not get the gig, and he releases this single, INXS would have a stake! It's about money!

And to be fair, they asked Marty to sing the original as well, because if they would have asked only J.D. to do the original, this would be painfully obvious!

Frankly, this works both ways - positively as well as negatively!

Because even die-hard fans are stating, "It would have been nice if they did another song!"

By the way, everyone did well, although it would become subjective on performance night, but the audience enjoyed everyone's performances!

So now irrespective of how things go at least one original hits the bottom three! Question remains which one - do they both land there!

Yes, but the general idea is that Marty and J.D. are front runners and I am not buying that!

The end-line is J.D. is doing the original again - so INXS can make money from his single! At least, that's what I think!

And besides, this show was more or less about misleading people and it worked! J.D. fans are happy - happy - happy!

I'm going to be SO upset if JD wins. I can't stand him. It's not just his immature personality, but he's just a bad Las Vegas Elvis impersonator. I will never, ever, ever listen to INXS again if they hire him. C'mon.. Marty's the man.

Loved the review! The show was so carefully scripted by editing!
They tried to make it sound like they had never heard MiG sing an Inxs song. Give me a break, go to INXS.com and listen to MiG sing with the band!
The show didn't change my view, Marty and MiG are the two to beat. I'm torn which one I would like to see win. So I hope the best for both!

A quick note for Sprout and Curlio, I also love Paint it Black! And, I thought the Rolling Stones were always a mid-level but enduring group. That being said, you might watch the movie "Full Metal Jacket" to more fully understand why that song has deep deep meaning to so many Americans, including me.

More Later!!

Sprout, another very good post! I like the way you run with the ball!!

Question: what is the problem with MiG's theater training??? To my eye, his on-stage presence is no different that JD's (except JD comes across as 'snarly'), or even Mick Jagger for that matter. I don't get it.

Yes, I'm a HUGE MiG fan. :-D

They are going to have to do a lot of reslanting if they're planning to pick anyone other than JD or Marty, after this last show.

My money's on JD. Marty is enormously talented but not right for the band.

Will say‘s:
I don’t know except for the cool factor! What I mean by this is that stage performers, especially in Musicals strive to be somewhat excellently repetitive. This would be the perception to the audience but of coarse not to the players (man I was off tonight)! In rock the overly prepared is just not cool, it is too much of dancin’ for the man, stuff. Kinda like in jazz, they do variations of the same! In rock, I think they try to bring the respectfully disrespectful in with a certain level of musical excellence! Seems like they try to balance all these things. They don’t want mirror image performances.

I wonder what our esteemed editors think?

I guess for me this show has been rather bizzarre because it was touted as the search for a new lead singer for INXS. However it is pretty obvious from the band they still wake up in 1993 and have been in a time warp ever since, now fast forward to today and they believe they can simply rush the stage and all the world will fawn over their feet, Hello? Earth to INXS? This isn't the way the world works, all bands evolve but you guys, wierd huh?

Official band interview for wannabe singers-

"What can you bring to the band?"

"Can you dye your hair black?"

"Will you obey and peform to our commands?"

"Will you worship us and treat us as your masters?"

"Can you write a hit song for us though?"

"Please?"

"And forget you wrote it?"

This one is easy. As my late grandfather would say an honest man never tells you he is honest, or that “this time” I will be myself or the “real me”. I almost hemorrhaged

JD tears, I agree he was probably very moved, and I’m sure he keeps the pictures of his family ready for the interview (oh, my) but probably for a different reason than Sprout!
He has schemed and lied and faked it his whole life and the women (Mother and Sister) love him “ANYWAY”. With his baggage and the un-paid loans and living in a car, how JEWELISQUE of him, I do feel sorry for him, I do feel he mirrors the flaws we all see in each of us. But, I don’t think the one with talent should have that talent or their inability to be manipulative hold them back, either.

This is gonna be interesting, and thanks for not Spoiling, I am sure the folks that want that kind of interaction can find it elsewhere.

It bothers me that this episode is putting MiG in a bad light. INXS must have known his theater background, I mean come on, you guys picked him to be in this contest! So is he paying the price for being too nice and JD getting all the glory for making them look like fools. I really don't get what they want.
If MiG has never been in the bottom 3 doesn't that mean that he has a strong fan base and people think that he is the best choice for their band? If they didn't like him from the very beginning then they shouldn't haven't given him NICE praises.
Or was it all a ploy so that people can get to know them all over again.
I really don't get this anymore!!!!!!

"MiG confesses that he was part of numerous musicals including “Rent”, “West Side Story”, “Grease”, etc. ok, don’t kill me, but I must ask this, “How in the world is MiG straight?”"

I am assuming, and correct me if I am wrong, that you are asking this question purely because of the fact MiG's background is Music Theatre? So, what? Does that automatically mean if you are a male Musical Theatre performer you are homosexual? If that actually is your opinion on the situation, please, do yourself a favor and get a clue.

I am assuming, and correct me if I am wrong, that you are asking this question purely because you don't understand humor. If that actually is your opinion on the situation, please, do yourself a favor and get some humor fast. If even the android on Star Trek: The Next Generation could manage it...

Actually, it was a joke, and I never really asked that question to anyone! But obviously you missed that fact! There goes my dream of being a stand-up! Sigh!

I know it was low shot and I admitted that, but please don't edit my lines, because that makes me sound really bad!

I joked with a purpose, you might not know this, I certainly did not, but in such competitions, the word 'theatrical' is a code word, when one wants to state that the person might be or is coming off gay!

Don't believe me? Think about who received that comment the most in this audition! Ty was not exactly a closet case, which I discovered after he left!

Look, I did not understand what MiG's past had anything to do with his present tense. When Tim asked MiG about his theatrical past, I was extremely peeved, because I did not get it!

I could have understood this line of questioning, if MiG would have made all his performances into shows like Ty did!

In fact, MiG has been least theatrical on the stage; J.D. is more theatrical when he channels Elvis! The lip curl and those moves!

So when MiG honestly confessed about his theatre background – I stated what INXS were trying to get at, albeit, I said this in a lighter vein!

Tim said we don’t think we have the time to dilute the theatrical influences! What theatrical influences?

Just for clarification, I don't think that all male performers belonging to Musical Theatre are gays!

And although I don't want to get personal, here goes the list of clichés that would make me gay as well!

I love Musicals; I am often inspired from Broadway and add them in my re-caps; I made a parody based on Evita Classic on this very page. I know all Barbra Streisand's songs by heart, I was in Art School, My best friend is gay!

There is more…but I think this should suffice!

Do you still think I need to get a clue?

Please take a joke for what it is! Oh yeah, if you don’t like a joke, don’t laugh, but don’t try to make sense of it.

1.) How do you know this and what is the deal?
Would you believe if I told you that I know this, because I am Mark Burnett or I work for Mark Burnett? LOL! Just kidding! We have no exclusive insider’s information. Net is ultimate source for getting the information – not everything is cent percent accurate, but one has to filter the information to come to some kind of conclusion.

After ‘The Contender’ some reports stated that Mark Burnett has had stake in each boxer’s career, I did not bother finding out things in detail, so I don’t know how or what that deal is!

Mark Burnett never had a recording label and with this show he has one. And the first release from his label is Rock Stars: Live At Mayan Theatre. I have read on numerous sites as well as heard it from some sources that most of these Rockers would be promoted by Burnett label, even Dana!

Marty and Jordis has sold more songs on music.msn.com than any other Rocker. Now even if Burnett did not have a label, any other reputed company would die to sign her on. Heck, if I had that kind of money, I would open a recording label, just to sign her!

Jordis did not leave because she had no fan base! She left because most of her fans including me thought she had a better future solo than with INXS! Also remember INXS’ parting words, those words were an important clue and that sealed the notion that a lucrative deal waited for her!

Well, no one is going to reveal what deal Jordis would get at this point in time, because that would be like stealing INXS’ thunder!

2.) How do you know this?
As far as Suzie’s songs go, my friend was in the audience and the Tuesday Show is recorded on Sunday! So my friend spoils me by telling who performed what and how! :)

The show is the real winner. What a nicely crafted show it is. The suspense keeps the audience clueless. The ending is far from predictable.

Just how much is left of INXS? It is a big risk they took by auditioning on TV for their new lead. They are torn between picking someone popoular and someone who will fit. I am sure they wish they can get both. They might fall flat on their face if things dont go their way. Perhaps they would regret going back to the spotlight using reality TV.

There are quite a number of legendary bands that switched personnel overtime. Chicago was one band who was lucky to survived the departure of Peter Cetera. They are still touring up to this day. We will see if INXS will be as lucky. This reality-flavoured audition can go either way. The candidates have been subjected to public approval. So far, the outcome is divided. One will be selected over the rest. Obviously, diehards of the other candidates left out will find it hard to appreciate the choice. So INXS while gaining some new fans will fail to win some too.

Is INXS outdated? I say no. For a huge music buff, music, as well the artists that create them is timeless. I hear music as fresh as it was when it was created. However, not all music fans think like this. Thus, a band or an artist must re-invent itself correctly to survive. The Bee Gees have been around for 5 decades. They did all, from being Beatlesque to disco to RNB. And they survived.

Can INXS duplicate that feat? They will chose a new frontman. If they click, they would go on and on. Otherwise, they would have to rethink their future plans. One more run, good run. Let us hope that they will be lucky to pick the right piece on their puzzle.

INXS tried to throw the huge MiG fan base off balance by playing up his deep theatre background. If you want to find the most skillful performers, chances are you will find them in theatres. You will find powerful singers, great actors, superb dancers and absolutely fantastic performers. I disagree that theatre actors tend to be repetitive. Yes they do repeated runs but once it is over, they easily gets absorbed by the new role. Think of absolute versatility and flexibility, they have it.

INXS is hoping to bring MiG to the bottom three by trying to turn off MiG fans. They are playing up to the Burnett gambit. Let the field be level, at least in the homestretch. MiG is too popular to land in the bottom 3. Does INXS want to see MiG perform their songs on the big stage? Yes. They already heard him sing Mystify (with Jordis) and I Need You Tonight in one live radio show. Did they like what they heard? We dont know. It was not the proper forum. we have to wait until MiG performs INXS at the Mayan theatre. Only then we will hear what INXS has to say.

Going back to the threatre thing, for me, it is the ultimate site for performance. It is undoubtedly live and raw. It is so demading that each performance must be perfect. There is no adlib allowed. From this, the performers exude the highest level of discipine and focus during the practice and performance. There is no place for hanky panky.

Thus, theatre exposure will surely serve MiG in good stead if he gets to lead INXS. It is certainly a plus. If INXS wants a true artist with a perfect blend of talent, character and training, MiG is the clear choice. This is not to mention that he is immensely popular too. He is the most global among the four. He hails from Asia, lived in Australia, earns a living in UK (Europe). He is the safest bet-talent and popularity wise. INXS will get the best of both worlds.
